I finished Far Cry 3, a game I enjoyed very much though it dragged after the second island.  I love the homages to Lost.

I really want to finish a game.  Seriously.  I want to finish a game more than I want to actually play one Sad

That's a good idea but I will always know I cheated, so that won't do.  I'm trying to play an FPS, they're supposedly notoriously short right?  Everybody complains about single player campaigns being so short in shooters...  Well, I've been playing Far Cry all day and I'm only about 20%.  And it's really hard as well.  I just want to shoot things, I don't want to have to decide on what route to take and what may be the best course of action ... what's this open world shooter nonsense?

beat my fifth game of the year, Gone Home.

What a piece of shit. I have not played a worse game in 7-10 years. And in that time I've played Chicago Enforcer.

I earnestly want someone to describe the true benefits of this game other than "a true tale of burgeoning lesbian love... and heartbreak". GO FUCK OFF.

From my personal listing:

I thought my 3 for Gone Home was being harsh. A 0!

Ducktales a driving game, Aspro?

Anyhow...I just finished Killzone Shadow Fall. Not the best FPS ever made, but I will say that it actually gets better as you go which is a nice change of pace from the usual start strong/end on a whimper design of most average FPS. Not really even sure how to describe this one....I guess it has the vibe of a launch game that was rushed out with pretty graphics just to show what the console can do. Nothing about it is amazing, but nothing is bad either. Its just generically good. The majority of the combat feels generic. The graphics while high level, have such generic art that it doesn't really impress. The controls are very good. The story is just filler. But as I said, the further you go, the better the missions get.

I give it a 7.5 rating.

How else would you describe it? You've forgotten about the mine cart segments.

Updated with Kid Icarus: Uprising. If this game had a traditional control scheme, I honestly think it could one of the best games I've ever played. That damned L button and touch screen combo is just for the birds though. It works if you want to play for 10 minutes at a time but afterwards it's serious hand cramping time. Still, even in pain I had a hard time putting the game down. Really hope they rerelease it for the Wii U at some point.

I think the opposite, it started with cool open missions and the further you went the more idiotic and terrible the missions got. That thing with the robots flying around and those huge robots that you couldnt get close to was awful. Terrible "stealth" missions where they tell you exactly where to go. The whole game just falls apart.

Interesting Vader.
I felt the open ended design of the 1st few missions was just kind of that way for the hell of it with no real point and nothing to do or see.
I liked the higher level of structure to the later missions.

Bioshock Infinite is finally done. I still liked the original Bioshock more, but Infinite is great as well and has a great ending. 9.0 Rating.

I absolutely loved Bioshock Infinite, and I'm certain it's largely due not paying any attention to it after it was announced. With the original Bioshock it was like trying to watch The Godfather for the first time while surrounded by numerous cinephiles; by the time I played it it has been hyped up so much in my mind that there was no way I could come away with more than a mediocre-to-positive opinion at best. I really need to try again someday. Glad you liked Infinite. WinkWink

Realized I haven't updated here in a while. In the past three months I've gotten these done:

  • DJ Hero (finished the last setlist, as close to "finished" as you can be with a music game)
  • Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (a decent snack-sized game, too hyped but still plays well and has a memorable ending)
  • Rayman Origins (awesome game, but gets a bit too hard once the rest of the world opens up)
  • Beyond: Two Souls (equal parts awesome and silly. Controls and looks better than Heavy Rain, but isn't as good overall)
  • CSI: Fatal Conspiracy (did it for the trophies. Yes, I suck Nyaa)
  • Assassin's Creed III (went for the platinum, played it every night for weeks. Drove myself a bit mad. Very good game)
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (games like this are what rental services are for. Excited for The Phantom Pain now, but damn, this shouldn't exist in this form)

I might be forgetting something. It'll come back to me if I am.

^ AC had the amazing ability to suck you in and driving you mad as you play non stop for days.

Trophy whoring is fine, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
