I was talking to a friend with a 5 yr old girl and apparently she really liked world of goo (was better at it than him) and any of the rabbids games. I know that there are Dora games out that got ok reviews and i think they're that age bracket. Samba might be ok on easy level.
oh wait ds - my mistake
SteelAttack said:Ok let's make this the official VGPress game recommendation thread. My wife asked me if some game from the MySims DS series would be suitable for my 4 yr old. I didn't know what to tell her, since I have no fucking clue what that series is about. Help?
The MySims series is basically about town building and social interaction. You talk to people, find out what they like, and then build stores and stuff in the town that they'd like. Lots of decorating too. The game does require a lot of reading, and while I wouldn't say it's anything heavy, unless your daughter is a wunderkid genius it wouldn't work for her.
Based on what I've learned from my kiddos, at that age all they really care about is if they are already familiar with the character. In my son's case he's watched me play things with Mario since he was 1 so Mario Kart is his favorite. And sadly he likes the Hannah Montana game too (I blame his sister for that). When my daughter was that age, Blue Clues was a well liked game for her (even though ended up being so freaking hard I couldn't figure it out), as was Dora.
So now what do I buy? There are a bunch of upcoming or just released games that I'm interested in. None of them really stand out above the rest though.
I got little kings story and Broken sword as gifts.
Now all these games are releasing quickly. Anno, Indy, Virtua tennis, Grand Slam Tennis, Conduit, Boom Blox.
I did my daily search for Fallout 3/COD4 and they are still full price.
I should get Fallout 3 as I absolutely love Oblivion. I guess the setting really puts me off. Can you 360 guys check the back of the box and make sure that hard drive required isn't on there?
Also with no hard drive and online, will the bugs hurt me with this game?
Boom Blox 2 you can afford to wait on as it's not going anywhere anytime soon, and the first game is pretty fresh on your mind. The Conduit is still too much of a risk at present so you should wait on that too. Indy i think you should be very cautious about. Anno is probably too much of a similar experience to Little King (i know they're very different but still) and EA tennis can wait too.
i am also guessing, fallout 3 is the game you want the most out of those, so i say just go for it.
I am selling the first boom blox now and that will help justify the purchase of Bash Party, but yeah its too soon.
I've never used blah dvd before but you always tempt me with deals. How reliable are they etc? I have this thing about registering internet accounts with everyone and his dog, it really pisses me off. That is a great deal though.

i did a quick search, read from a few sources that apparently it's not a pre-requisite. you only get faster loading times if you install it, but it works on 360 arcade. but it is required for the expansion packs
Fallout 3, no question.
Well my choice was the right one. I am so glad I bought Infamous and rented Punch-Out.

If you loved Oblivion definitely get it. It's Oblivion with guns no matter what anyone else says!
I'm trying to sell Deadly Creatures, Mario Kart DS, BWii and Boom Blox 1 to get cash for this.
But I just bought some shoes
I haven't played it, nor am 4, so it's hard to say. But probably not if the child can't read, because the whole game is based on personal interactions.
