What is 2DS? When Yoda mentioned it I thought he meant the original DS but GG's chart is confusing me.
Didn't see that coming, did you?
Anyhow, GG, I see that the animal crossing thing only applies if you buy a 3DS XL... IF I get one before september 7, and IF you haven't given the copy to anyone else by then, I'll gladly accept it. But man, the 3DS XL doesn't even come with a charger.
3ds has better battery life, bigger screens and a 4gb sd card. Normal 3ds has a 2gb card and proper resolution games.

Does it apply in europe or is it uk only? Hell if I know.
Man I love the industrial design of the 2DS. I wonder what it wil retail for here.
GG, the promotion is valid over here as well. Well, it should be according to my finds.
I don't think the 2DS is ugly per se, but I am rather concerned about how the touchscreen is in a different position to that of the 3DS and XL. Your index finger needs to travel a lot to reach the touchscreen, I could see this hindering you in games that rely both on regular button presses and quick swipes.
I can't think of any games I have that require both buttons and touchscreen. It's usually one or the other, except for menu navigation. I'm sure it's not a deal breaker, though.
Hmmm since you arent interested in most of the PS3 games I say go 3DS, it has an insane library now especially if you like rpg games.
Don't get the 2DS though, that thing is uglier that GGs butt when he gets out of the bathroom from a diaraeaa attack.
I am about 2 hours from walking into a gamestop and saying:
preorder me a fucking 2DS
preorder me a fucking ps-mother-fucking-4 and
preorder me a copy of fucking GTAV - STAT!
That's not gonig to happen today, but that's how I feel this morning.

1. That wouldn't work, as Gamestop employees frown on colorful language.
2. You'll feel better once Saint's Row 4 arrives.

"Oh look, a cheaper version of a piece of hardware I find too expensive!" "But you know, I could just shell out a little bit more and get the full option handheld." So instead of paying €200, I'm only paying €70 more then I would for the barebones model.
Not having 3D is an upgrade

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileYou had to remind me didn't you? Instead my day will entail countless household and mechanical chores, taking a cat to the vet, and at the end of the day when I have nothing left in me but exhaustion and alcohol poisoning trying to feebly play a couple of PC games that my dog could have made (and I don't even have a dog).

That's pretty much the definition. Yep.
So, software wise the 3DS and XL are 100% equal? I'll have to check for any promotions then, because if they're identical, save for their dimensions, I'd rather keep my €30.
I've been betting with my spouse for a 360 for years now, but the last year or so I find the PS3 to be more attractive. Sure, I don't like the controller, but Sony has better indie exclusives. In short, they have Journey. And SotC. I still have a copy of SotC for the PS2 at home, despite never having owned on or even being able to play it.
