Excite Truck. Best arcade racing game of this generation.
I've managed to turn a few people onto the Saboteur, but I'll give it one last shout out. The game is one of the best sandbox games I've ever played. It may be a bit more limited in freeplay than a GTA game or RDD, but the missions really stand out. Stealth combat is emphasized when completing your goals and its a nice change. Plus they can be very difficult and really require some planning. The main character Sean Devlin is brilliant, and one of th most compelling characters to come into the gaming world in ages. And since he's Irish he makes being a member of the French Resistance much more palatable.

I would whole heartedly disagree with Silent Hill Shattered Memories. I don't like being pinned down by naked pink people in the middle of a high school drama to be my "scary moment" for a game.
Everyone has those few games they Champion. You know the ones, only YOU actually played them, you thought they were great, but you couldn't convince anyone else to take a chance.
