Enjoyed the last days of track and field.  Loved the world records in the women's and men's 4 x 100 relays.  USA basketball was incredible today.  Spain played really well and that forced them to show their stuff which was great.

Closing ceremony was just appalling.

Nite nite olympics

Just back from the Olympics. Saw the last day of the athletics live. And the bronze medal match of volleyball. The atmosphere was really awesome.

So that's where you have been. Must have been pretty cool to see a live Olympics event. From what is being reported the vibe in London ended up being pretty positive despite the negativity leading up to the games.

I ended up not seeing a single event this time around despite my goal of wanting to see the track and field.  Every time I turned on the TV (at the limited times it was on) it was the lame sports. I think I saw more ribbon dancing than anything -- lots of rowing too.

Of course not, if I wanted to waste valuable time, I would have listened to the podcasts. Nyaa

Then again I wasted them by sitting in a broken train for 3 hours.

This is kind of a touchy subject for me after what the IAAF did to Caster Semenya three years ago.

I think you were joking, if not - I did mean drugs test.  They found a banned substance in her results.

I was sitting next to a 60 year old woman watching it when it came on and she couldn't work out if we were watching the mens shotput or not. I didn't point it out, but I could totally get what Vader was saying.

Ostapchuk stripped of Olympic gold medal

Olympic women's shot put champion Nadzeya Ostapchuk has been stripped of the gold medal she won at the London Games a week ago after testing positive for a banned anabolic steroid.
