Nope. Sorry Vader.
I got a call from Gamestop today telling me that I had unused deposit credit. Turns out I still had $5 for Epic Mickey on reserve which confuses me to no end since I bought it at that store. At any rate, I found a copy of Assassin's Creed for $10 so I picked it up. Felt good getting a $5 PS3 game. Unfortunately I think I'm going to hate it, but we'll see. I only played it for an hour and need to give it a bit more of a fair shake. Controls are killing me though.
Sweet! Yeah controls are a bitch -- and people have the gall to complain about RE. I wonder if they continued with them in the next games?
Weird. Of all the things wrong with AC, controls would be the last thing I would think of.
Does this description from the AssCreed Wiki indicate perhaps what my problem with the controls may be? (also though kudos to them for trying something new and finding success).
The controls in Assassin's Creed are quite different than the typical set-up. Instead of each specific action being directly linked to a unique button (such as A to attack, B to jump, etc.), four buttons are assigned to four major body parts - head, feet, weapon hand, and free hand. The actions these buttons perform are determined based upon context. Also, a modifier key is set. The modifier key, when held down, puts Altaïr in high profile mode (or defensive mode, depending on context).
AC controls took a little bit of getting used to but certainly no deal breaker.
___
I just bought (well I bought a couple of weeks ago but I just received):
1. Deadly Premonition - Aspro and Leo made me want this game. It's constantly getting compared to Alan Wake which I loved, so I had to get it. It is also obscure and will soon enough be hard to get which certainly added to its desirability.
2. Super Mario All-Stars Anniversary Box. I will never open this. It will just sit there gathering dust. Hopefully it will be very valuable as a collector's item down the line
3. 2100 microsoft points card. There's a lot of competition for these points. Out of the recent games ilomilo seems interesting.
Two games I have pre-ordered:
1. Deathsmiles. I'm a sucker for old school bullet hell space shooters even if nowdays I've lost my edge and have a very hard time.
2. God of War III (Platinum). This is a no-brainer. I was just waiting for it to get the inevitable platinum treatment so I could get it for cheap.
Super mario all-stars red box is already valuable as a collectible.

So unless they re-print it, it should pay for 3-4 games in about a year.
Thank you for buying Deadly Premonition. I promise to buy Alan Wake soon.

I got the same two games.
Yeah. It's a real shame about not being able to play Uncharted.
