At the risk of coming across as "casual" I'd have to say Wii Sports. You can argue all day whether or not it was good for gaming, but when I look at how many hours I spent playing Wii Sports and now Sports Resort, there's no question as to how much fun I've had with it.
As far as other notable mentions the Bit.Trip games have been surprisingly good. Phoenix Wright also gets a nod from me, assuming it counts since technically they were GBA games. And of course. . . The World Ends With You.
Aspro's list reminds me, when is the English language release of Hotel Dusk: Last Window releasing?

No announcement for it yet. They got to bring it over though.

CING went bankrupt right?
I need to play this sequel in english.
Grrrrrrrrr
Is the title:
Favorite New IP of This Generation?
or
Favorite New IP(s) of This Generation?
Which is your favourite guys?
My favourite? Not sure, possibly Demon's Souls simply on account of how many hours I've poured into that game.
Most important new IP of the generation? Hard to argue against Wii Sports. It pretty much won it from the outset.

Seconded. I still don't get tired of replaying the two games.
Besides that I would say Uncharted or Demon's Souls

I don't think Nintendo will let it sit idle. They were big enough on it that they let it use the "touch generation" label. I wouldn't be surprised to see them handle the translation and publishing themselves.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileselbie said:SteelAttack said:Mass Effect, without a question or hesitation.Seconded. I still don't get tired of replaying the two games.
Wow, two of you eh? That surprises me. I guess you guys dig it in the same way I dug Animal Crossing on the DS, figuring that any game that absorbs that much of my time must be the best game (or I would not play it).
And Selbie, you actually replay ME and ME2?
Delicousness in gaming form. And you can kill children! Suck on that GTA etc.

uh, yes? Also that's not my reason. Fallout 3 absorbed a lot of my time, but I wouldn't consider it the best game of this gen. Mass Effect 1 & 2 were the best quality for me in terms of being a polished package. No doubt there are other games I haven't played which might be more deserving of this, but alas I haven't played them
I am seriously interested but currently devoid of any nominees.
Uhh...
No More Heroes, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Phoenix Wright, Gears of War, Call of Duty (we ain't including the PC here folks), LKS, Uncharted, Demon's Souls, TFU, Rocket Slime, Hotel Dusk?
