Oh my.

  1. Mario Rabbids: Sparks of Hope - Switch - 02/01 - A sequel that actually does away with many features of the original, resulting in a less satisfying game.  The battles are still fun.  If you liked the original, you'll like this one.  It helps that the original was 4 years ago so you probably won't remember much of what was taken out.  -  5/10  (the original scored a 6 back in 2018 )

  2. Splatoon 3 - Switch - 07/01 - I beat the story mode, so I'm counting it as completed.  A sequel that still manages to feel like Splatoon 1.2.  The story mode formula is really starting to wear thin, I found it a slog to play through.  The puzzles are starting to grow old and the 'enemies' pose no threat at all.  The multiplayer is still great, even if it's basically still the exact same game.  -  7/10

  3. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - GBC, played on Switch - A very enjoyable game, although there are some design sensibilities that show it's a game from 1993  -  8/10

  4. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Switch - 16/09 - it's still BotW, which was awesome, but now also improved.  I'd like to say also expanded, but the addes area's, while often huge, aren't as enjoyable as Hyrule itself  -  8/10

  5. Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Switch - 26/09 -It's a fun little game that doesn't really stand out in anything.  It just calmly and confidently goes along doing what it does. The game is approachable and enjoyable to gamers from all levels of skill.   -  7/10

  6. Cocoon - Xbone - 14/11 - a puzzle game with good atmosphere where the developer seems more keen on showing how clever they are themselves, rather than making the gamer feel clever as he solves the puzzles.  The bosses are fun.  - 5/10

  7. Super Mario Wonder - Switch - 19/11 - 2D Mario platformers had gone a bit stale over the last years and Wonder solves this by tossing in everything the devs could think of and then some, offering a unique experience, even for those like us who grew up with Mario.   -  8/10

  8. Super Mario Land 3 - NES, played on Switch - 09/12 - I think this is the first time I ever beat the whole game.  When it first released I recall I only got through it by cleverly utilizing the wonder flutes.  Great game, often seemingly defying what the NES should have been capable of.  I loved every minute of it.  Still one of the very best games ever.  -  10/10

Maybe it's time for me to condense my format.

It could have been me. I could have been at the top again. I should have finished Crysis 3 even faster.

Now I'm the one who has to scroll all the way down. And no more confrontations with the Carnival Night gif for everyone.

1. Crysis 3 [PC] - 1st of January to 7th of January - Doesn't deviate too much and it's a solid FPS. What can go wrong? 8/10

2. Toem [PC] - 7th of January to 13th of January - A game from before colour in video games. 7½/10? Sure, why not?

3. Pupperazzi [PC] - 13th of January to 15th of January - Another photography game (after Toem). Some fun and amusement but you can take a photo of a wall and get a good score. 7/10

4. Civilization: Beyond Earth [PC] - 16th of January to 26th of January - Civilization V but more drab and confusing. It's still Civilization, so it's no disaster. 7/10

5. Civilization VI [PC] - 26th of January to 3rd of February (tentative) - They're still making new content for this. 9/10

6. Life Is Strange: True Colors [PC] - 22nd of January to 7th of February - The most underwhelming so far, but it's had quite a visual upgrade. 7/10

Wavelengths - 8th to 12th of February - This also exists.

7. Katamari Forever [PS3] - 7th of February to 19th of February - There's still a bit more content to do in the 'post-game' but I can't play Katamari forever. 8/10

8. Fire Emblem Engage [Switch]20th of February to 28th of March - Sometimes I wish these games went by as quickly as they do in the first third. 8/10

9. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil (Phantasy Reverie Series) [PC] - 29th of March to 1st of April - At its best it's a passable imitation of the first game. 7/10

10. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition [PC] - 3rd of April to 4th of April - It's not much but I finally won a game (or two) without cheating. I hadn't played one of these games since I was a child. 7/10

11. Resident Evil 4 [PC] - 5th of April to 15th of April (to 17th) - Three years after replaying the original. This went better than I thought it would. 9/10

12. Slay the Spire [PC] - 15th of April to 7th of May - I've come to realise that I prefer to play cards against an opponent's cards, which is why I prefer Inscryption. 8/10

13. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker [Switch] - 5th of May to 18th of May - Appealing miniature levels but I'd like to see Nintendo abandon the touch gimmick. 8/10

14. Subnautica [PC] - 19th of May to 27th of May - The best survival game I've ever played. Also the only one I've played. It's the mystery that makes it. 8/10

15. Need for Speed Unbound [PC] - 10th of June to 4th of July - I managed to avoid committing manslaughter. Probably. 7/10

16. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links [PC] - 28th of May to 28th of July (legend rank) to 16th of August (quitting ranked) - I won't bother rating this.

17. Bendy and the Ink Machine [PC] - 18th of August to 21st of August - Chapter 5 contains one of the most boring things I've ever played. 4/10

18. The Forgotten City [PC] - 25th of August to 27th of August - A more appealing time loop game than Deathloop, which I quit playing. 9/10

19. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel [PC] - 27th of May to 31st of August (multiplayer mostly) - I think I'm done with Yu-Gi-Oh(!) 8/10 (or 7? I don't care)

20. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon [PC] 27th of August to 2nd of September - I listened to Britney Spears while playing this. 8/10

21. Starfield [PC] - 6th of September to 28th of September - Lacks the highs of The Elder Scrolls but holds up better over 100+ hours. Mostly because the planet exploration is so uninteresting and irrelevant that it was easy to ignore. 8/10

22. Sunset Overdrive [PC] - 28th of September to 19th of October - Fun game and not as annoying as it could have been. 8/10

23. Super Mario Bros. Wonder [Switch] - 20th of October to 10th of November (main story) - Sometimes it just feels like an underwhelming Rayman Origins. But then... 8/10

24. Slay the Spire: Downfall (Mod) [PC] - 17th (?) of October to 21st of November -  I replayed the whole game plus the added character. 8/10

25. Silent Hill [PS1] - (9th) 15th of December to 24th of December - Dated. 7/10

26. Silent Hill 2 [PS2] - 25th of December to 30th of December - At least the acting's slightly better. 8/10

1. Devil May Cry V: Special Edition - 07/02/2023

Vergil playthrough. So much fun.

2. Resident Evil 3 Remake - 02/03/2023

Much simpler than 2's remake, but still enjoyed this.

3. Resident Evil 4 Remake - 06/04/2023

Now this is how you remake a game.

4. Resident Evil 4 Remake - 08/04/2023

Beat on Hardcore mode in 4 hours 40 minutes.

5. Bayonetta 3 - 20/04/2023

Got distracted from playing this from October. Very disjointed in terms of tone, plot and the like, but it is very fun. Maybe just not as good as 1 or 2.

6. Resident Evil 7 - 22/04/2023

Played with the other half. I took over when she got too spooked... which was most of the game.

7.  Untitled Goose Game - 22/04/2023

Good fun coop and just the right length.

8. Resident Evil: Director's Cut - 14/05/2023

Quite simple and archaic compared to the following releases, but a lot of fun and charm nonetheless. Also, apparently this is the year of Resident Evil.

9. Spider-Man: Miles Morales - 01/06/2023

Has all the polish of a Sony triple A game, but was quite repetitive and kind of boring after a while.

10. Mortal Kombat XL - 23/06/2023

I couldn't tell you the plot from start to finish, but I had fun for sure.

11. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 - 13/07/2023

2 completed.

12. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon - 16/07/2023

Finished a save from 2008 that was 98% done lmao.

13. Mortal Kombat 11 - 26/07/2023

The story in this is dumb even for MK standards.

14. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - 24/08/2023

Voice acting to rival Resident Evil.

15. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - 25/08/2023

Bowser's Fury.

16. Elden Ring - 10/09/2023

Decided to start this again and ripped through the second half in like 10 hours. Also platinumed it.

17. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - 26/09/2023

After all the difficulty horror stories I'm glad to say I had a great time playing this.

18. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - 26/09/2023

The Shura ending. Also NG+. It was very satisfying to rip through all the bosses in like one go.

19. Bloodborne - 14/10/2023.

Beat the other ending and platinumed.

20. Lies of P - 12/11/2023

This game was shit. Am I lying or not?
