Barcelona vs Chelsea

Awesome.

Normally I prefer Spanish clubs, but I really do not like Barca.

So go Chelsea!

See!

Wowie, the ref better get home quick, Chelsea had right for 3 penalties at least. And Drogba had at least 2 100% chances, a striker that can't score is useless.

Messi is god, shame he plays for Barca and not a awesome club like Valencia.

Lucky sons of bitches. LOL I was about to post that no one plays important matches like english teams, and there goes Iniesta with a screamer.

Messi is good, but today he failed to show what Ronaldo showed yesterday with Man U all throughout the match. Cracks should appear when they are needed the most, not only when your team is leading 4-0. At any rate, the real dynamo, the engine beneath Barça's hood is Andrés Iniesta. He's by far the fastest thinking player in that team, both with and without the ball.

So, Iniesta saved Guardiola's ass, because Barcelona's fans are being led to believe that this team is one of the best in the world. They need to show it May 27th, and they will be facing a team that embodies what high level competition football is about.

I believe he said it was a fucking disgrace. Nyaa However, wasn't quite as disgraceful as his finishing.

Chelsea definitely deserved to go trough. Oh well, I'd much rather play Barca. One dimensional teams ftw!

so ... just so we can put this topic to bed with some closure, anybody watched the final?  in my opinion a game with few thrills for a neutral.  barcelona 2 - 0 man united.  barcelona learned a thing or two from chelsea and played like an english team to beat man. u at their own game.  man u did nothing to come back in the game except show frustration and disinterest and should perhaps have seen red cards.  so, all in all on the night, barcelona  deserved it so here congrats ...

BUT ... of course we all know barcelona should have never been in last night's final anyway after the daylight robbery by the referee denied chelsea of their rightful place.  so please excuse the logical leap here while we here at the vgpress, who always report the true news the way they should be reported, proceed to crown Chelsea FC champion's league winners 2008-09 in our hearts. Nyaa

Great timing for our worst performance of the season. Nyaa

Red cards? Ronaldo definitely could've got two yellows but the only other incident I can think of was Schole's tackle. Definitely a yellow, and if you're being very harsh a red, but otherwise I wouldn't say so.

Drogba's finishing is to blame for Chelsea not being in the final. Nyaa

true, i think schole's tackle was cynical and malicious and could have resulted in a badly broken leg so it was in my opinion a red.  and ronaldo showed once more that he needs to grow up before he can be the great player he is claimed to be, at least two yellows were in place for his efforts.

i was very disappointed in the lack of spirit or motivation in the team after the 10th minute when they went one-nil down.  evra, vidic, anderson, scholes and others were just not in the game.

it's true what you say about drogba too, i have no dilusions and i was fiercely critical both of his performance over the two legs and of his after match antics

Confederation Cup (i.e. world cup pretend), anybody watching?

USA v Italy as we speak.  terrible game (need more beer to start appreciating).  USA not only have to win but someone also needs to put an elbow in derossi's face.  yeah, payback ... come on USA!

THIS but in reverse

3 great goals following that comment. LOL

One thing I'm hating about the confed cup is the horn. The same horribel noise for 90minutes=not a good atmosphere.

So I just heard that the US team pulled off a miracle, one of the most inprobable advancements to the next round ever.

I think I speak for the rest of the American public when I say... who cares. Nyaa

You know what's even better than being able to say, "who cares?"  We can say, "HA WE ADVANCED!! AMERICA RULES. . .  and we still don't care."

Being able to boast and not care at the same time = wonderful experience.

you guys should care though.  not necessarily for the confederation cup because it's meaningless and counts for naught but for football perhaps, at least as far as your national team is concerned.  the US have had a decent team for a number of years now and most of the guys in it are having to play in europe to earn their bread.  it's a shame.

anyway i'm really glad to see them go through and leave italy out.  in a small way, justice was served Grinning
