I bought Wave Race Blue Storm the day I got my gamecube. Some of the fondest gaming memories of my life. I remember really "feeling" the waves and the jumps even without rumble (because of wavebird). Sadly I seem unable to get visceral about games anymore.
Jungle Beat is a great game. It was the Mario Galaxy team's first game, and you can feel the same vibe, the same enthousiasm.
There's a lot of high-score potential in there, and after you complete a level they show you a small clip showcasing some extra technique or hidden area to maximize your score. Some levels you could finish with only having touched the ground twice or trice, resulting in huge scores. Congrats on finding it.

Very fond memories of that game as well. Being able to swoop past obstacles by just shifting your weight and anticipating the waves in order to take sharp turns... Such great memories.
The series could really do with an online enabled new game. I always thought it was a pitty that I couldn't play the game with anyone, as everyone was rubbish at it because they couldn't accustom to the waves and weight of your racer in short multiplayer sessions.
I played Jungle Beat on the Wii....but seeing as I scored the bongos I wanted to play the original version. Its a great game.

Did you play it back in the day when it was a bongo-controlled game? I only got to play it on Wii New Play Control (or whatever they called those gamecube rereleases). I liked it but I wasn't crazy about it. Made me wonder and kinda wished I'd played it the way it was originally meant to be played instead

I played the original bongo-powered version. There was something primal about playing it that way. I played the new play control game a few months ago (well, 10 minutes of it). It was the same, brilliant game, it just felt a bit less intense.

Great game.
Rogue Squadron and Ep1: racer are great games. They were both visually stunning for their time, and I preferred Ep1:racer to F-zeroX at the time. Not only did it blow F-zero out of the water in the graphics department, but I liked the level design better. I playes as Mars Guo most of the time, unless it was a very narrow track (Mars Guo's podracer is huge). You should also try playing the game with true podracer controls: a controller in each hand, using the 2 analogue sticks to accelerate/brake and first person point of view. It'll melt your brain Ah, good times.

You can do that? That's crazy!
try it with mars guo his engines are so huge you'll be lucky to catch a glimpse of the track...
I tried playing that way but it was difficult.
I took advantage of Gamestop's buy 2 for $10.00 sale and grabbed a copy of LA Noire and Toy Story Mania (that was the Wii Toy Story carnival side-showesque shooting game). Since I'm a Gamestop member again I even saved %10, so I got the two for just $9.
