i saw trailers for captain america and it looked good.  i love the sort of faded look it has.  most superhero movies are either very bright and technicolour and cartoonish or just completely dark.  this one looks very different and appealing to me, at least aesthetically.  definitely want to watch it

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu

I wonder if all these superhero movies were actually needed to set the stage for the upcoming Avengers one.

No, but they are needed to fill Marvel's pockets

The remake train from Hollywood to Hong Kong travels both way. According to Channelnewsasia.com, action star Donnie Yen has signed on to appear alongside actress Cecilia Cheung in Assassin Couple, a remake of the 2005 action thriller Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

. In the original, the film deals with an unhappy married couple who are highly skilled secret assassins, yet neither spouse are aware until they are surprised to find each other as targets. As they attempt to assassin each other, they learned to reconciled their marriage and reach a loving relationship. New Asia Entertainment Group (AEG) announced that their adaptation, while similar in having martial arts and gunplay action involved, it will featured a different storyline entirely. The film is budgeted at (S$18.7 million) with almost half going towards the lead stars paycheck.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in March of next year.

I hope not.  I like that Christopher Nolan keeps the villains grounded in reality. Well, mostly grounded.  I'd hate to see an overmuscled Bane.  I'm not sure I like the mask, but again, it's probably more suitable for Nolan's movies than a luchador mask.

You are talking about a movie where a guy dresses up like a bat to fight criminals. Grounded in reality is not what Batman is about.

Oh jeez. . . that picture is just a reminder of how badly Bane has been treated in the comics ever since his debut storyline. It does not look good. I hope Nolan didn't bite off more than he could chew with the 3rd movie. Between this and the number of new characters they're introducing, I'm getting nervous.

Nolan did take a lot of the fantasy element out of his Batman movies. Everything is done with a degree of plausible logic behind it. There are no mysterious super powers, no chemical accidents that grant super powers, etc. Compared to most comic movies Batman is a lot more grounded. That's actually one of the things I've disliked about the series. When it gets too real it just doesn't seem as fun.

Also in Batman Begins Gotham city looked like Gotham city, but in TDK it was a generic realistic city. Also there were more ninjas in BB, so all in al BB > TDK.

I cannot believe you guys are losing faith in Nolan. Everything the man touches is gold. The movie will be incredible.

Bane looks hella lame. The muscles version is kinda crap too, but it'd be better than that. What the hell does he do if he's just a guy with terrible fashion sense?
