The Prestige was hardly gold.
Neither was the Dark Knight. Seriously overhyped movie with some pretty big issues.
Oh god, you are having a Foolz moment. Dark Knight is by FAR, and its not even close, the greatest superhero movie ever made.
And Prestige was a very good movie. Inception is a masterpiece. Batman Begins was the best superhero movie until TDK took the crown.

BB > TDK. Fact!
Iga is having a good taste/intelligence moment. Agreed, Vader.

The hell is that?

Personally, Memento bored the crap out of me. Inception was good, but no one bothers to watch the movies that inspired it, by Satoshi Kon. Millenium Actress > Inception.

I thought it was a good film, but it didn't feel enough like a Batman film to me, too much of the film was just like a normal crime movie set in daylight. And like you said, Gotham became a generic U.S city. I think that Ledger's acting was overated just because he croaked.
I just figured it out... Bane looks like a character that didn't make the cut for the new Mortal Kombat game.
And as far as the Dark Knight goes, the thing that I really didn't like about it was the ending. It just didn't make any sense. The city loses its hero DA and the best course of action Batman can think of is, "we'll say I ruined and killed him and everyone will hate me!" Brilliant. So now the city loses its DA and its hero. Hey Bruce, next time just stay at home and we'll call Aquaman instead.

Yeah they could have just blamed the Joker instead.
Now in a few hours Vader will come in and explain to us why it did make sense and he will rape logic brutally to do it.
That's gonna be awesome if Bane and Batman become DL characters for the latest MK.

The point was that Harvey Dent was a hero, they didn't want to ruin that image and show him as the villain he became, so Batman legged it so Dents image could be preserved.
Look Upon Leaked Images From The PROMETHEUS Comic-Con Reel!!

Seriously!!!!! That would make sense. The Joker part, not Vader saying why it was good.

Think about this for a second. Does that really make much sense? Does it solve anything? A violent madman just terrorized the city, killed plenty of people, blew up a hospital, and held hundreds hostage. Batman publically saves a bunch of these people at that. And then he has to take the blame of Dent going crazy? Once again with this logic the city loses two heroes instead of just one. Are the Wonder Twins available? Gotham would be better off with them.

Could never happen. Batman won't kill anyone. . . cuz he's a puss.

Then his moves would be Babalities.

No I wont do that cause I kind of agree with you guys on that part. The ending was a bit confusing but I understand what they were trying to do with that, to save the image of a ligit person standing up to crime, not a vigilante.
Yes the movie is more like a crime drama than a batman movie, so what, it was an excellent crime drama that starred Batman and Joker. I have never felt so much tension in a movie before, it build and build to such a breaking point, masterfully done. And Ledgers performance gets all the praise it deserves, I really hate when people try to descredit the praise cause he died. He would have won the oscar if he was alive, it would not change my opinion of it at all.
travo said:Prometheus is an Alien prequel, right?
Yes, that may or may not involve aliens. They are being so vauge about it.
Dvader said:There is no way a movie called Millenium Actress is as good as Inception.
Not sure why GG mentioned Millenium Actress, because it is nothing like Inception. It is really, really awesome and inspiring, but if you are going to compare something to Inception use Paprika as an example.

Hey, if Marisa Tomei could win an Oscar for My Cousin Vinny, anything's possible.
I pretty much disagree with most of what you said but you were disagreeing with my post so that's only logical. I didn't really feel any tension there building to breaking point.

No, Millenium Actress is the one. Satoshin Kon is all about dream theatre. If you watch Millenium Actress you see point for point where areas or themes are re-used. Paprika has the basic concept of going into people's dreams, Millenium Actress is the perfect execution of dream theatre cinema.
You did not feel tension in The Dark Knight, thats the entire movie. It builds and builds on the chaos to the point where nothing is safe. First judges are being murdered, assassination attempts left and right. Batman almost quits cause he cant stop it. Then they capture Joker only to have him blow up the police station, kill Rachel, destroy Dent. Then start a manhunt to kill a dude, blow an entire hospital. At this point Gotham is a warzone, no one is safe, Batman is an utter failure, chaos everywhere. I never felt so hopeless in a movie, just when it seemed it couldnt get worse then comes a boat experiment. It was hard to even breathe how tense that movie was. I felt for everyone in Gotham, how it must feel to have the entire city feel unsafe that at any moment this madman could blow you up or worse. I felt how lost and desparate Batman becomes cause he has no freaking clue how to deal with this monster. To see one of the greatest comic villains of all time put on film in that way with one of the most stunning performances by an actor is so special. Ledger disappeared in that movie, I saw no traces of him at all, he became the Joker. I have never seen anything quite like it. A masterpiece of a movie.
Its amazing how two people can see a movie so differently.
Neither was the Dark Knight. Seriously overhyped movie with some pretty big issues.
