I only have around 90 pages left till it's finished, but I just can't take it anymore.
I finished The Hobbit and LoTR years ago, but have no desire to revisit them. Especially when I find GRR Martin's fantasy work to be much more fascinating.

Note to self: Never take book suggestions from Vader.
Ravenprose said:I've been reading The Hobbit. I actually started reading it back in January, but the book was so boring that I stopped halfway through. Well, I started it again last night, and, yeah, it's still very boring. The problem I'm having with the book is its prose, which is incredibly bland. I keep skipping entire paragraphs of bland nonsense in an attempt to keep myself from falling asleep. I rarely say this, but the film is far better than the book.
This is the guy who just read through the entire Harry Potter series.

Harry Potter is 1,000,000 times better than The Hobbit.

This post deserves 1,000,000 s.
Anyway, I'm now reading NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. My friend mentioned that he was enjoying it, so I figured I'd give it a try as well. I've never read anything by this author before. It is quite good so far.
I just finished NOS4A2. It's damn good read, and kept me glued to my Kindle for hours at a time.
I'm going to start The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling tonight or tomorrow.
Reading The Great Gatsby for the first time. Saw the movie yesterday and my sister had the book so I wanted to compare the two. Surprisingly the movie did a very very good job of adapting the book. Di Caprio was particularly amazing. The book is fantastic of course.
I just finished reading Stephen King's Carrie. Wow. The film didn't impress me all that much when I saw it 25 years ago, so I never bothered with the book. That was a big mistake on my part. The book is so much better, and far more disturbing and tragic. No wonder it launched King's extremely successful writing career.
Bought World War Z. I have heard the movie is going to be a horrible mess but the book is supposedly awesome.

The book is awesome. I read it last fall. I saw the trailer of the film, and, yeah, it's nothing like the book.
I'm interesting in reading Masters of Doom since one person on Gamespot recommended it in the system wars podcast.
My favorite author is Dostoyevsky. Is there anyone alive these days that writes in the same style?
The Hobbit is great for people suffering from insomnia.
