Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThe Bi-athalon was the only game on Epyx Winter Olympics that I ever figured out how to play.
Honestly I've never really been able to get excited about the Olympics, summer or winter games. As far as international competition goes I'll take Iron Chef over it any day... well the old Japanese one. The American one isn't as good.
Yeah I never understood the bi-athalon. Sure it's cool to have skiing and shooting together but it seems like a pretty strange combination to come up with. I'm curious as to how something like that got started. Hockey is definitely the highlight of the Olympics for me. Watched some of the women's and they played great. Looking forward to the men's starting up tomorrow.
Hockey FTW.
I am also watching men figure skating, just to see Jevgeni Ploesjenko utterly destroy his competition. Also watched skating yesterday.
Yeah I watched some of the short pairs skating yesterday and it was quite good. Shame to see a few of them take a tumble on those jumps. Still there was some impressive stuff. I'll watch when they do their other routine today.
It was awesome to see Alex get Canada's first gold in men's moguls yesterday. That's the first gold we ever got on home soil.

I bet it was an outgrowth of hunting.
EDIT: From Wikipedia, "The sport has its origins in an exercise for Norwegian soldiers, as an alternative training for the military. The world's first known ski club, the Trysil Rifle and Ski Club, was formed in Norway in 1861 to promote national defence at the local level."
Did anyone see that clip of the double luge where that british woman split her pants?

I'm having a hell of a time finding coverage anywhere on Free TV here in Australia.

That was before the olympics began and it was on the news when it happened.
Listen to Iced Earth and play Doom
I saw a report saying that the officials were upset with how the Uk media was portraying the winter games, basically it focused on the accident and the lack of snow and snowballed cost.
Truth is most people here don't care about winter games, only summer olympics.
There virtually no coverage here at all on terrestrial TV and I don't have access to ESPN or Sky Sports channels so all the information I get is what appears when I read news on the internet or what I hear on british forces radio while I'm driving. So the last few days have been all about Amy Whatsherface (first about how great she was on the skeleton and then how Canada tried to rob her of her gold by complaining about her helmet etc).
Wish I could get to watch the US vs Canada hockey game
My exposure to Winter Olympics is limited to the Epyx game for the Commodore 64 -- which wasn't a bad game at all for the time. I've never watched any of it (or the regular Olympics) 'cause I can't stand all that "We Are The World" bullshit. Resolve the mid-east crisis, Zimbabwe and then talk to me about getting together for a global sports party, until then... /end rant
But what has caught my attention this time around is an event called Bi-Athlon. No, it's nothing sexual (though that would be interesting) it's basically cross-country skiing with guns. How awesome is that? I also want to check out the final battle (or whatever it's called) in men's hockey. That should be interesting as well.
