I've already come to terms that by the time the youngest leaves the house, the eldest will be having kids of his own. Since people here don't move around much that'll mean babysitting a couple of days a week.

It'll never end.

On a more upbeat topic, Super Mario Wonder is really getting some outstanding reviews. Spider-Man 2 is as well. For the non hobo gamers of the world, this is going to be a very enjoyable winter.

I hope all you dads and successful dudes get some balance back. Being single with no worries does have some perks.

So both SM2 and Mario getting excellent reviews! Friday is going to be awesome! Most of the days this weekend will be me finishing up on my new house so I can finally move in. I have so much junk, such a huge physical game collection, I'm going to trim it down. Lucky for me old games are going for crazy prices on eBay. I have multiple $150 games I never intend to play again.

I'm a bit weary about Mario Wonder.  I never took to the generic artstyle of modern 2D Mario's and haven't played any of them since the first NSMB, barNSMLuigi U.  I guess the kids will want to play it, so I'll play through it eventually, but I'm not feeling it.  It doesn't help that I've still got Metroid Prime Remake and Bravely Default II to play, not to mention Bayonetta 3 which I've only played an hour of.  And I still need to get Pikmin 4 as well.

But hey, at least I started playing Tetris99 again.  cheeky

Yeah, tomorrow is going to be pretty busy. I’ll be getting Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder tomorrow. Loved the first Spider-Man game and Miles Morales was pretty solid as well.

I go back and forth on getting SMB Wonder. Elephant Mario, talking flowers and neutered Yoshi just don't do it for me at all. But I thought the same about Super Mario Cats on Wii U and that turned out to be great fun.

I do want Mario Wonder but I'd rather get Pikmin 4.

Splatoon 3 is killing me. I cancelled my switch online so I can't even play it.

The single player was so boring I only did a few Salmon run matches before putting it aside. Now I feel like it's collecting dust and by the time I get back to it, the online will be dominated by merciless online douchebags.

Jurassic Park is 30 years old today.

I remember watching it in cinema's at a younger age and being wowed by how lifelike it all was.  It truely was next-gen stuff at the time, and even holds up today.  We rewachted all the movies a couple of months ago, and the original is the only one I'd call a good movie.  There's wonder and excitement; all the sequels are just monster movies wherein the monsters are scientifically underpinned to a certain extent.

There's also a documentary on the making of on Netflix somewhere, which is a fun watch.  Originally they wanted to use only puppets for the dino's, but they brought in a special effects firm to add motion blur.  This one guy programmed a T-Rex skeleton walking in his free time and against the will of the company, which he then 'accidentally' had open on his PC when Spielberg was visiting.

I remember seeing it in the cinema as a kid.

Revelatory special effects. Epic music.

Unconfirmed: Nintendo Switch 2 to support NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction
19.10.23 - The Nintendo Switch 2 console is rumored to support NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction. This would make Nintendo's new console more capable of ray tracing compared to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

That's what Nate the Hate claims in his new podcast; he's proven to be quite reliable in terms of Nintendo rumours in the past. Nate says that the next Nintendo console will support NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 AI-powered Ray Reconstruction, which will greatly improve the quality of ray tracing.

This quality will mainly depend on the denoisers used. However, it's likely that in the future it will surpass what the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are capable of in terms of ray tracing, as Ray Reconstruction can be updated via new firmware versions.

Nate the Hate has also commented on which features that are part of NVIDIA DLSS will be supported by the console. First of all, he claims that frame generation is not supported. Still, the insider thinks the console is extremely future-proof, with both Nintendo and NVIDIA working to make the Switch 2 as advanced as possible in the field of mobile technology, with the feature set that makes the most sense for the system.

Nintendo hasn't confirmed any of the details and hasn't announced a Switch 2 yet.

Here's an important question. Which 90s movie had the better mix of CGI and practical effects? Terminator 2 or Jurassic Park?

Have no fear! Super Mario Bros. Wonder is colorful, whimsical and light years away from the New Super Mario Bros. series!

You really WILL have a smile on your face the entire time you're playing!  ☺️

I don't want to discuss it too much because I can already tell half the fun of this game will be the totally unexpected things you come across in the levels. You'll be grinning ear-to-ear, asking yourself "Did they really just do that?!" Yup they did!

It really does evoke a sense of wonder!!

What a year this has been for gaming!

Baldurs Gate 3

Mortal Kombat 1

Diablo 4

Street Fighter 6

Spider Man 2

Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Armored Core 6

Sea of Stars

Final Fantasy 16

Jedi Survivor

I'm sure I've forgotten some but HOLY CRAP!! Is this year so much better because it's a stark contrast to the last few years of the Covid drought or is this one of the best gaming years E-V-E-R ? ! ?

Yeah, it’s such a fantastic year for gaming indeed. I’d throw Metroid Prime Remastered and Resident Evil 4 Remake in there as well.
