Did your dad check your cassette tapes for satanic lyrics?

What cassette tape? Nyaa I bought a Def Leppard album once and both my parents freaked out. Good times. Oh, and Harry Potter is evil too.

Satanic panic was something else. My mom checked my music for lyrics that glorified satan. What she didn't know is that I had already torn them out and hid them under my bed to read during bedtime. Ha ha ha!

I'm happy to say I never really had to deal with any satanic panic crap from my family growing up. We were pretty catholic, so maybe that made us immune?

My wife on the other hand was not so lucky. When she was around 12:00 or so her mother forbade her to trick or treat, and on Halloween night they would listen to a cassette by some preacher talking about why Halloween is the devil's holiday.

I was evangelical Christian for some years. The anti Satan stuff was not really part of it as Satan and his followers were seen as losers in the grand scheme as Christ was returning to triumph. So yeah not really understanding where that moralism came from other than the usual suspect ... Media hype.

The real question is where did this Satan stuff come from in the first place? Dude is always an off-sider of God, either causing him to fuck over his biggest fans for the sake of a bet, or being the more judgemental Christian than God. Or just a vague abstract sort of annoyance to the Israelites. Unless I'm forgetting something. The post-modern conception of Satan sounds a lot more like God than Satan.

EDIT: then again, he's more promiment in the New Testament, but all I remember from that is the fig tree, Lazarus and Revelations tbh, so I'm probably wrong. Theology is hard! No wonder so many people prefer science.

Since we're on the subject, I watched Little Nicky last night for the first time in about 15 years. It was Adam Sandler playing Satan's special needs son or something like that. Anyway, just absolutely awful. Not that it was good then, but it's even worse today. But the Ozzy cameo is still pretty good.

I received my replacement copy of Pac-Man museum plus from Amazon last night.👍 I ended up playing quite a bit of Pac-land, which was the first game I owned for the Atari Lynx. Anyway, 30 years later, I still struggle with the timing on that stupid springboard in front of the pool. Hrm

EDIT: I'm an idiot. I forgot you have to keep tapping the run button after jumping off the springboard to hover. That part is super easy now, lol.

It's really nice to play Pac-Man Championship Edition portably now. The Switch JoyCon d-pad works very well for it and the other Pac-Man games.

Sadly, Pac-Man Museum + does not have a Tate mode. Sad

Hey, we all enjoy different types of vacations, but damn.

Back pain x economy = fun.

Ordered the new Zelda. Will be ready when I come back.

You guys find the price of travel insurance increasing as we get older?

Some people still believe that. Case in point, the cleric in my group has a wife who is super religious and she is very unhappy that he plays. If I have been told correctly, she has referred to the game as "a doorway to satan."

Isn't that what she calls her butt hole?

This weekend I've mostly played arcade Pac-Land on Switch. I have fond memories of playing it on the Atari Lynx but never thought I'd get back into playing it again like I have been, though. It's addictive!

I've been playing as much Zelda as I can, but not hakf as much as I would have liked.
Did a couple of shrines. They remind me a lot of Portal's test chambers. Both visually and in the kind of puzzles they offer. These seem to rely much more on physics than those I remember from BotW.

I had a vacation get cancelled due to my wife getting sick, so this weekend ended up being a deep dive into Stardew Valley. Lots and lots of Stardew Valley as a matter of fact. Amazing just how much has even been added since the last time I played it.

Hope your wife feels better Robio.

My weekend has been all Tears of the Kingdom. Having a great time with the game but I always keep getting distracted by various things. LOL
