So Mortal Kombat is rebooting itself the same way Xbox did with their system last Gen.

Yeah, pretty cool trailer. Makes sense given how MK11 ended. Interested in seeing how the assist character mechanic plays out. Comes out September 19th which really isn’t that far off.

It's current Gen only. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like.

EDIT: It's coming to Switch as well, lol.

Atari 50 is a great collection. Food Fight arcade still holds up. Tempest 2000 runs great! I wish it had more Lynx games, though.

Digital Foundry just posted this with Rich Whitehouse, who created the Jaguar BigPEmu emulator that Atari 50 uses. He's continuing to develop it, adding more game compatibility, features and fixes. Just awesome!

I'd potentially lose friends if they were actively involved in certain things in regards to politics. It's a bit sad (I mean that in the simple sense of the word) losing friends over cheerleading for a political team, though.

It's sad and it defies logic. To people who've done this I'd love to ask them "what difference did a politician or political party make in your life that was so important that you'd cut off friends and family that have made an impact?" Bizarre...

I'm sure they'll wait until the last second to announce it's a Switch Cloud game.

My mother in law went down this path. There was much more to it than that, but it was a big issue and we haven't spoken to her in about five years. Still much more complicated issues but politics seemed like a catalyst.

I have so many right wing nuts as friends and family. I have a Cuban family, if you don't know Miami Cubans are notoriously Republican and they have gone full Trump. At this point we just yell at each other a bit and then move onto the next topic. No one needs to stop being friends. Now no one I know is actually engaging in actual activism or politics, it's just usual meme crap so it ain't that bad.

It does suck how toxic this has all gotten and I blame social media and the parties totally eating up the whole us versus them. That said I find so much of what republicans do as vile that you have no choice but to speak up, it is what it is at this point. I too think aliens coming to blow us up would be best case to get together... though we would just end up fighting each other and the aliens would be like "let them fight"

I keep up with Bugs on Facebook but would love to have him here. Same with Steel and Leo.

Steel is still on the ring of fire offshoot on discord. Not sure why he doesn't visit us that much here. Even I do find it tough just cause everything is moving to discord chats. I like forums but for long form game discussions. Sadly a forum like this is a dinosaur, but so are we so it's ok.

I've never even tried Discord.

My office started using MS Teams a couple years ago for interoffice communication. I prefer email. Thankfully, most people here are set in their ways and ignore Teams.

I actually enjoy it here rather than on the discords that I've joined.

I use Discord for my Dungeons and Dragons group. There's a lot of good functionality, but it's really more used in place of Zoom. I still prefer archaic forums for communicating. For me it's pretty much this place and Reddit. But not even the current Reddit. I use old.reddit.com because I like that interface more.

I play Dungeons & Dragons with my coworkers once a week, although between children and other adult responsibilities it's closer to once every 3 weeks.

Anyway, I think we just need to reevaluate your use of the word "legendary."

Still alive here.

Thinking of moving my camera equipment back to the other location.

I don't think I'll ever get anything done unless it's as easy as possible. However it sucks as the setup and background I can't replicate and I don't know how to make it look decent given the space I have remaining.

Going on vacation mid-week. Looking forward to dying of cramp on an 11 hr economy seat.

I had a high school friend who would host an annual role playing convention in our little town for about 25-30 of us high schoolers. It was isually held at his dad's storage building. We had about 4-5 different D & D games going at once and usually something else like a Star Wars RPG. It would last a whole weekend with people come and go as they please and join a game at random times.

I stay far, far, far away from D&D. My dad told me it was satanic in the 80s. *Shudders*

Some people still believe that. Case in point, the cleric in my group has a wife who is super religious and she is very unhappy that he plays. If I have been told correctly, she has referred to the game as "a doorway to satan."
