This weekend I completed Immortals Fenyx Rising. I recommend this game to everyone here since we are all big Zelda fans. Some of these puzzles in the vaults (dungeons) are real head scratchers. I'd love to see a sequel to this.
This weekend I played Yoshi's Island, Stunt Race FX, SMB1 (All-stars version), Gran Turismo 7, and about an hour or so of Death's Door. Death's Door is a lot harder than I thought it would be. You start the game with few arrows, so most of your attacks are close range with your sword and you can get hit and swarmed quickly. Fun game, though!
Not playing much of anything seriously right now. A new season of fortnite started up, so it's kind of neat too check out the changes there.
And at my son's request we renewed our Nintendo online subscription, so I checked out some of the new Mario kart tracks. Sadly I am officially not good at the game anymore. I squeaked out a third place victory one time and other than that it was pretty bad.
Other than that, just some hurricane prep over here.
I played Splatoon3 only. It really doesn't feel like a sequel. All the same weapons are there, all the same items. Ignoring the single player story mode, maybe 10% of the game is new. But the gameplay is still SO GOOD. The specials are a mixed bunch, as ever. The crab tank is very cool, although easily destroyed if you manage to get behind it. The 'reefslider' special is heavily overpowerd. The blas radius of that thing is huge. It can easily take out a full 4 person squad.
I mocked this news on EG stating that they'd sell the Disc Drive as the PS5 Slim and the actual console as the power brick. It was all in jest, but someone noted that it'd be pretty cool if you could hide the actual console from view and just have the drive sitting next to your TV. Well, cool until the PS5 toasts itself due to insufficient cooling in whatever cabinet you'd hid it in that is.
Probably just going to make the one PS5 model, the disc less version, that way they only need to have the one SKU. Personally I prefer to have my console as one single unit so I’m glad I have this version.
The one negative I've learned from owning a Series S is that digital copies hardly ever go on sale. You can find the physical copy for about $20 less most days.

Didn't get to play any 3-way matches.
I guess I prefer their approach to having new retail releases as opposed to digital expansions. I guess.
The Rocket League approach of having to DL giga size updates everytime you play eventually turned me off playing it.

I really hate hurricanes. The damage it causes in and of itself is bad enough, but people just lose their freaking minds. When it reaches Orlando it's supposed to be tropical storm or maybe a category 1 strength hurricane. Obviously nothing great, but not a nightmare. And yet there are idiots buying up enough bottled water to last them a lifetime. They have shopping carts completely full of toilet paper. What the hell do they think they're going to do with that much bread and milk if the power goes out? Are they feeding French toast to an army? Jesus I hate people.
You know, I'm actually considering starting up Xenoblade Chronicles X tomorrow. I've got a couple days off of work to prep for the hurricane, and last time we had one I actually went through Breath of the Wild. So in a weird way, going to the Wii u seems appropriate for a hurricane.

It was my favourite one for the transforming mechs. When you gain the ability to fly, it's a wow moment.
Each Xeno is my favourite for different reasons.
Still wondering wtf happened at the end of XCX though. Need to read up on it.

Another weekend of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne for me. Saw the credits the expansion Iceborne part now and have opened up the Guiding Lands.
This week I set up a monitor to play Gran Turismo 7 with.
I didn't play Gran Turismo 7.
I started Arcade Paradise on PC.
Arcade Paradise on Steam (steampowered.com)

RUMOUR PS5 Redesign to Feature Detachable Disc Drive

I always waited till I had 5 crystals to boost a blade Awakening.
And once I had a good crew I stuck to them.
There are something like 35 legendary blades that are all unique. And they have their own story moments and quests.
So I cracked open my existing stash of around 26 rare and 99 common crystals.
And I only got 2 new legendary.
This demon guy and a woman/marionette robot lady who is cool.
Having sunk a good amount of time into Xenoblade 3, it's making me appreciate Xeno 2 more.
I love the creative designs for the characters, there's even a a girl who follows you around in a floating bathtub.
Xenoblade 3 is very serious in comparison.
The effort they put in is really great. It feels like the culmination of years of recruitment they did.
Did you notice the detail on the armour designs in the LOTR films?
They put that kind of details into the mechonis like vehicles.
At the moment though the 3 towns I've visited are all the same.
The story has one side breaking off into colonies which have a massive mech towering over basically a group of tents.
I'm hoping this changes.
It's also settled into this story groove I won't spoil but it needs to get away from for more surprises.
I'm seeing some crazy stuff in Xenoblade 3.
All Xeno games can be played independently of each other, but there's some stuff in X3 that is freaking me out.
There are portions of land from the first two Xenos, hinting at things I can't elaborate on.
I watched a Xeno 1 and 2 recap on YouTube and stopped before the 3rd was explained.
Gah, can't spoil it for people, but it's worth keeping up with these games, whatever order you play them in.
Happy Anniversary Dragon Quest V. 30 years? Damn.
