So this week I finished Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and moved right to KH 2.5. What about you heartless?
I've been playing a lot of Splatoon, The Binding of Issac and the DLC for Shovel Knight. Splatoon has been fun, but I'm about at my limit in terms of ranked fights and can't progress much further than I have so I may be hanging it up again. Issac is as amazing as ever.
And as much as I want to like the DLC for Shovel Knight... I just can't. Plague of Shadows and Specter of Torment are just too hard to master. I've always considered myself pretty good at platformers, but these games have just made me feel like an utter schmuck. Specter Knight (the grim reaper one) isn't quite as tough as the Plague Knight with his charge jump and attack combos, but it's still just hard enough that it kills the fun. I'll still give it one more go though to see if it clicks. I haven't completed a game in many weeks and I'm due.
I played a lot of Octopath Traveler this weekend. Finished Alfin the apothecary’s storyline just recently. Good stuff and a pretty challenging boss fight. I’m on chapter 4 for the other seven characters. This game is quite long. I’m currently at the 80 hour mark now.
Resident Evil. I'm now in the underground laboratory (not the shark one), which I assume is the last part of the game.
Me too. I'm about 50 hrs in. Doing everything sequentially so working my way up the food chain given what level my characters are. I love this game.
It makes me feel the same as a younger man playing Golden Sun on the gba. Love the way the shrines opens up the combat and abilities. One thing that irks me mildly is that you pretty much need Therion with you permanently or you cannot open all those purple chests. I have been snapping screens of their locations and hope to return at some point to nab them. My main jam is Peacock Dancing Cyrus' Elemental attacks and launching all out fury on people.
Haanit is easily the most versatile character, she can catch and use beasts like fricking Pokemon!
R.I.P. Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.
Love that area. In the Cube version you actually had to put the override discs into real Gamecubes....but the remaster just has generic machines obviously.
I'm almost done with Dante's Inferno....man they nailed the old God of War formula. Great game. It still holds up graphically after 8 years too.
And I'm getting deeper into Vampyr. Might play more tonight. That's about it right now....trying not to get too many games going all at once.
Wtf? How come none of my Endless Ocean 2 pics survived the ravages of time but Tabs gifs did?
Fans of the classic PSOne game Rollcage will be VERY excited to know a date has been announced for Grip, it's spiritual successor!
Coming in November!
This past weekend, I played:
...the --AWESOME-- Dead Cells, and...
...the all-time classic, reborn, once again... Tempest 4000!
Going back to work tomorrow.
. Really wished I had won the lotto.
Awwww man...
I really wanna pick up Octopath Traveller and also Dragon Quest 11, but I'm not sure about either of them right now. I feel a little guilty with the huge ass backlog of RPG's I already have that I need to play. I mean a HUGE stack. I need a year off.
I find what often helps for me when I have a couple of huge games waiting to be played, is to play something the complete opposite. Something short and very arcadey. After that I'll often feel refreshed and jump straight into an RPG
Spiritual successor? Made by the same people? Either way, that screenshot looks good. Loved the original rollcage.
I remember Rollcage. Maybe I'll play that new one someday.
By Miu Watanabe.
That's definitely the way to do it. That's why I played Dante's Inferno after Kingdom Hearts...I knew it wasn't a long game. I've pretty much got my next 10 or so games planned out, so that should help.
I'd try the Octopath demo if I were you. What I like about the game is that it doesn't feel like some neverending long ass RPG. The battles are snappy enough to feel arcadey and can last from 20 seconds to a few minutes. Its very simple and it's perfect for Switchs sleep mode. You can play it in bed, the car or wherever and instantly wake or sleep whenever you are interupted. Try Primrose's demo.
If I do that, I'll want to buy it right away.
