I had an idea a few weeks ago which I thought might sound too infeasible about NX. This is regarding a docked mode where the system could run unfettered regarding power draw. Then of course there's the heat and casing problem. Anyhow my idea is actually kind of so simple it's genius. What if the back of the case literally flipped up when docked, exposing the chips to open air and the dock could even have fans blowing cool air onto it. Of course then you have people easily modding it or screwing up the internals and you can't validate a warranty by the usual methods like the case being untampered with. And kids fucking around and breaking shit.
Got some info here on Tegra px2 Pascal chip used in cars. It uses 2 of them for a combined 2.5teraflops of power, that's equivalent to a 3tflop AMD. If NX uses 1 (custom) it would be about 1.25tflops with real world performance better than Xbox 1. But the form factor etc will probably mean it'll be under clocked. Using 2 parkers in cars already. Wonder if 1 could be in the dock?

Anyhow in cars the px2 is scalable with two tegras and two gpus. The tegras give 2.5tflps and the dual gpus give 5 teraflops. If they are built to be scalable would the scds have a separate gpu?

The fabrication method is pretty important as it enables less power hungry, cooler and smaller chips - as well as performance increases. I think the more interesting thing about PX2 in cars is the scalability up to 4 chips taking it past 5teraflops. Remember the rumours about NX being a modular console and all the Supplemental Computing Devices? I'm interested in the final form factors NX could have. Perhaps a standalone home console with a Pascal 2.5tflp gpu but it can also be used as a handheld dock to boost the power with the handhelds innards too. Also if there is the same kind of scalability shown in the px2 documents you could push past ps4 neo power. If the docs mean 2.5 teraflops for the dual tegras PLUS the dual Pascal gpus used in the px2 setups at 5 teraflops you can push past Scorpio power equalling 7.5teraflops total. Highly unlikely though but that setup is currently being used in the px2 setups in cars. More interesting in the documents is what the px2 does in those cars

I don't think anyone is expecting Nintendo to release some kind of device that can form a supercomputer just by pooling enough of them together. A smart dock is as far as I'll go, and I still think that having something like the WiiU, where up to 4 'smart' gamepads/handhelds can be used together would be a smarter move.
Finally reached the high level quests in MH4, the Shigeru Magala is no more.. So far haven't failed a single mission yet. ... Make that 'single player' mission, thanks to a certain capture quest. My gear is starting to lag behind though, as I just barely succeeded in my last 2 quests.

I maintain that wasn't my fault. I'm pretty sure the instructions on the quest changed mid-way.
