Gamesindustry: There's still merit in console secrecy

So my coworker was walking in the middle of an alley and found a Sega Dreamcast (black Sega Sports edition) sitting ontop of the dumpster in great condition. He took it to work yesterday and we plugged it in the TV and found out that it works fine. Pretty cool.

That's crazy.
The only thing that I found similar to that was finding Mario Kart DS in a Wal-Mart parking lot. It still works I took it home erased the data and created a new file.
The NX is going to surpass the PS4's ( a console that launched in 2013 ) processing power? Fuck...maybe Nintendo really are aiming for the stars this time!
A friend of mine and me went to Belgium's "only international indie games convention" last Sunday. A big name for a room with indie games that mostly are already available on Steam or the eShop and some artsy stuff made in Belgium. Anyhow, there was this one small demo with an Oculus Rift and a Leap attached to the front of it, which really showed a glimpse of the future. The Leap tracks both your hands in 3D, which when coupled to VR really gives a unique experience. The game itself was pretty basic and didn't require any subtle movements of the hand, but it was still a strong effect. Of course, what this does mean is that you need to keep your hands in front of your face at all time so that the leap can keep track of them, which is rather limitting. Then again, if they could apply the tech from the leap to some form of controller that you attach to your wrists the possibilities are there for some really immersive experiences.
Reading this makes me think EA on NX is a bad thing. What's this sports bullshit and those demands? Nintendo gamers don't even want EAs sports titles, they want everything else.
The demands EA are putting forth are crazy. What, a sports lover won't buy an NX because it doesn't run sport apps? NX is launching mid-gen, the sports lovers already own a PS4/Xbone. These people will (if at all) buy an NX for the unique experience or even just for their kids. All EA needs to do is make sure that the NX version is the definite version if they want to sell on the NX. Or perhaps make games that would appeal to the people who typically own Nintendo hardware.

I can't even imagine being in that room and listening to those demands, Nintendo execs must be thinking, wow, wtf?
"You have to do more to cultivate a sports audience on your platform."
"Okay, then how about doing that with EA Sports titles?"
"No, you have to cultivate the audience for sports titles without having our sports titles."
EA is demanding to know what Nintendo is going to do to cultivate a sports fanbase on NX? Before they agree to put EA Sports games on it? Without EA there are no sports games. Mario Tennis going to do it for ya EA? What the fuck am I reading.
Basically they're putting the ball in Nintendo's camp. I doubt Nintendo will budge much. Either the NX becomes a big hit, and EA will acknowledge this and develop for it, or it's another miss and those who do buy the NX could care less about Fifa being on the system or not. The only benefit EA can provide to Nintendo is indirectly keeping families from buying PS4's and Xbone's if they can get their fifa's and Maddens on the NX as well.
I already know that one big 3rd party dev is porting a huge game for NX at the moment. I was in the closed beta of this game and the partnership was kind of spilled out by a mod.
NDA, so no sugar, sorry. But just letting the Nintendo fans know that they're going to get some good 3rd party love on their new console.
Also that guy who posted the Zelda NX and NX 2016 and leaked 3DS game lineup checked out with GAF mods as legit. He's going to release some Wii U info soon too.
Pachter on Oculus Rift an HTC Vive pricing: " $800 is more than $600, even with hand controls, so Oculus has an advantage. "
Personally I don't agree with this. Well, obviously I'm not denying that $800 is more than $600, but I don't feel that this puts Oculus at an advantage. Both pricings are high enough to be priced out of the mass market. People with that kind of easily disposable money will see beyond the pricing and realize that the HTC Vive is in fact the better deal.

But it doesn't have the support the rift has and it has this room thing almost no app will use.
What support? It's just a fancy monitor... It comes with real vr controllers, which oculus will be charging easily $80-100 for, so the whole room thing is only a small extra fee.

Sounds like the plot of Megadimension Neptunia...

It's three Wii U's duct-taped together.

That GG sig!
Someone needs to hunt this bearded dude down and find out why he was the only one without a headset.
The only dude there who's going to survive the robot apocalypse.
I miss Kevin Butler.
We are really getting used to seeing that bedside table. I remember that from the Mario Amiibo shot.
Nice, very nice pickup Leopold.
