Gamesindustry: There's still merit in console secrecy

If you played straight through Mortal Kombat's story mode, it would probably be the same length as what they are proposing for SFV.
SFV is following along the timeline it laid out at the moment of it's announcement. Mode-wise, character-release-wise, story-wise. There's no surprises. It's not like they said: "You are getting the most complete, content-filled SF of all time!" They are keeping to the schedule they made in the very beginning.
It's people who either don't have the game, or had no intentions of getting the game that are the most offended. How does this make any logical sense?
As someone who has PLAYED it, I HAVE been "engaged for tons of hours without playing online" already. 95% of the content that keep people "engaged" in Mortal Kombat is fluff. Seriously, tell me how many times you've actually gone back to the Krypt and viewed the stuff you've unlocked? For most people it's just the fact that it's THERE that they like, the practical USE of what's there is minimal.
Why are you so offended by this Vader? Were you planning on buying this game on day one?
What did you enjoy more about the last Street Fighter? Playing through each individual's Arcade Mode, or going over a friend's house and fighting one-on-one battles?
MK story mode lasted me 8 hours. Capcom said SFs story will be under 2 hours, that's an afterthought. I am not a big SF fan but I have been a fan of fighting games that have loads of content, smash, MK and hopefully one day VF returns. I love putting hours and hours unlocking stuff, advancing in in game rankings. I want to have the sense that I can beat a game, online is just endless horde mode, that appeals to me in small doses.
Now clearly that means I am not a hardcore fighting fan and I have never been. When capcom announces a story mode I thought they got the message and we're going to give us a fighter with as much content as MK. I missed the whole staggered release thing, I learned about it through reviews. If SFV was as feature rich a fighter as MK and past fighting games yes I probably would have jumped in. So it's disappointing to me because I know SF is the better fighter and I have always stayed away from it cause they never seemed to care about the single player stuff.
Believe me I know what you feel like, happened with MGSV and the silly Microtransactions where everyone decided to attack the game for something that was totally optional. We all know SFV the fighting portion is fantastic, and if all the other stuff doesn't matter to you then of course you will love it. The other side of this is the whole early release thing, I'm not a fan of this, give me a finished game. I'm not paying full price for half a game. Unless it's Star Wars then I'll pay for it. Please attack SW, what they did was garbage, I don't have the willpower to not support it.

Oscars are tonight who you got? I say Leo is a lock, deserves it. I think Alejandro is going to win best director but I’m going with the upset on best picture, I say spotlight wins. Best supporting actor should be Tom Hardy, I don’t think Stallone is winning.
