That was a huge bombshell. A game Archie doesn't like.

Capcom is considering washing its wang after they bitchslapped their fanbase with it.
Why would you even release a game like this without a story mode? Its like they just assume everybody JUST wants to play online multi-player. Same thing with Star Wars Battlefront.
People didn't line up their quarters on the arcade machines back in the 1990's for Street Fighter's story.
When Yoda, Robio (Vader) and I played online, we didn't discuss the motivations for fighting.
I've never seen a Tournament where the players debated about whether Nash was dead or not.
Fans of Street Fighter don't play the game for the story.
They play for intense, balanced one-on-one fighting.
The people complaining the loudest right now are NOT the actual fans; they are people who create and/or latch on to drama and controversy just to be part of a conversation. Most of these, if not all of 'em, probably never intended to buy the game anyway.
Will I play the FREE story mode update when it comes out? Sure. As a REAL fan, is it something that I feel lessens the real appeal of the game? Nope.
YouTubers know nothing draws a crowd like good-old negativity. I just can't believe how many causual people are joining in on the fuss in order to defend the "fanbase." Fight on Justice Warriors, fight on...
Well to be fair they had made it known that this was how they were going to release Street Fighter V and that it would get a proper story mode as free dlc later on and other dlc for free too. They wanted the game to be released in time for the major fighting game event as well. As long as they do a good job with adding in content later on then things should be ok.
The ONLY actual complaints I've heard are over the servers. There's not a single person who actually owns and plays the game that's complaining about the story mode. It's especially ridiculous when, as you say, they said that it was coming and when it was coming all along. People who probably don't realize this are people who haven't been following the game since the beginning, aka not fans.
Battlefront never had a story and will never have a story. Street Fighter V has a story mode in it already and is getting a SECOND one in June. As short as the Story Mode is that is in there now, it contains more story panels, more voice acting and lasts longer time-wise than the intros and endings the characters had in Street Fighter IV. Not saying you, Edge, but if you listen only to people that DON'T have the game, have never PLAYED it and are only discussing it to increase their viewership count, you wouldn't know that. Millenial gamers and YouTubers are really starting to get on my nerves lately.
...Entitled, dramatic bitches.
The only people talking about Street Fighter right now are the ones leeching on to drama. Fans aren't talking, blogging or Twitching about it, they're actually playing it. If they WERE to talk about it, it wouldn't be about the story. It would be about the incredible graphics, super-balanced engine, perfectly diverse roster, fast, fun and aggressive play-style. They'd be talking about the merits of the V-Triggers and Reversals, the Criticals, etc, etc... You know, about how the game actually PLAYS.
I've never been a huge Vega fan so, no. They changed up the characters in a way where they are all very playable and approachable; like changing Vega from a charge character into an input character... but it's for the best! The moves are easier to pull-off, and that immediately lends to speed and aggressiveness, but the game is just as technical as it always was. The actual battles are more intense, there's more of an exchange of blows and it's more edge of your seat than ever.
NOT like Marvel vs. Capcom... it's still Street Fighter... Inputting moves and controlling your characters is smoother and quicker than it's ever been, but it's not unrelenting craziness like MvC.
Happy Birthday Pikachu. I Choo-choo-choose you!
I remember getting Poke'mon 18 years ago. I remember I could never get passed the first town because I didn't know that I had to go to the shop to deliver the parcel to customer. It took me like a year to figure that out. Later I got stuck at the fourth gym or something like that because I didn't know how to use Cut. I only found out because some kid at school told me about it.

8 GREAT WAYS POKEMON INVADED POP CULTURE
Oh these are funny. And damn I'd forgotten about Herman Cain. Four years ago that guy was briefly a front runner for the Republican nomination. Where the hell do the Republicans keep finding these people?
Or we just want a finished game!!! Wtf is this staggered release shit, I don't want early release, I don't want my games in pieces. Yes it's great that you all get to play it early but that's not the final product. MK shames SF, give me a reason why MK can release with loads and loads of content and SF can't.
The best home fighting games have always had amazing modes for single player and multiplayer. VF, Tekken, MK, Soul Calibur have loads of modes and progression that can keep you engaged for tons of hours without ever playing one match online. Obviously the purists don't care that much for that but others do. SF has always been light on content, so I was excited to see they would have a full story mode in this one, well guess not. It's coming and it's half assed if it's just a hour or two. SF is just for the purists, it might as well be killed instinct, a game you pay in pieces, barebones fighter.
If you played straight through Mortal Kombat's story mode, it would probably be the same length as what they are proposing for SFV.
SFV is following along the timeline it laid out at the moment of it's announcement. Mode-wise, character-release-wise, story-wise. There's no surprises. It's not like they said: "You are getting the most complete, content-filled SF of all time!" They are keeping to the schedule they made in the very beginning.
It's people who either don't have the game, or had no intentions of getting the game that are the most offended. How does this make any logical sense?
As someone who has PLAYED it, I HAVE been "engaged for tons of hours without playing online" already. 95% of the content that keep people "engaged" in Mortal Kombat is fluff. Seriously, tell me how many times you've actually gone back to the Krypt and viewed the stuff you've unlocked? For most people it's just the fact that it's THERE that they like, the practical USE of what's there is minimal.
Why are you so offended by this Vader? Were you planning on buying this game on day one?
What did you enjoy more about the last Street Fighter? Playing through each individual's Arcade Mode, or going over a friend's house and fighting one-on-one battles?
THIS is the kind of stuff people who actually own the game and purchased the game day one are talking about:
"I have maybe 20 fights under my belt and still lose a lot though I win more than I lose. Birdie probably isn’t upper tier, but he is effective. His punches and kicks have good range and high damage and he has some mean throws. His charging head butt is a great way to punish people who let themselves get pushed into corners.
This morning I had a four game (maybe five, I forget) win streak against ranked opponents that was unceremoniously snapped by a Cammy (she and Karin are the opponents Birdie has the most trouble with, at least the way I play him). I saved a bunch of videos. Provided I figure out how I’ll upload them to YouTube (IIRC I have an account already).
I think part of the secret of my success is Birdie’s novelty. I have not run across any other Birdies (though could say the same of the most of the new fighters bar Super Saiyan Necalli."
...and just to add...
Why did you buy and play SW Battlefront, despite the fact it had no single player mode, was only online and had staggered content?
Because you're a fan of Star Wars.
Why did you NOT hear me complaining about the lack of single player or story mode in SW Battlefront?
What pisses me off THE MOST... and again this isn't directed solely at Vader or Edge... If you MUST complain about Street Fighter, do it in the way where YOU say why YOU are personally disappointed about the game... None of this WE are disappointed or GAMERS are let down over Street Fighter... speak for YOURSELF. Most people who wanted the game, have the game and are impressed, not disappointed. YouTubers or people who speak as if the represent every last gamer out there annoy me to nooo end.
...and this is why I encourage people to use the |OT| despite it being negative feedback. I tend to post where it was brought up and it's not my intention to take up the general forum with stuff like this normally...
