You were racing pretty well, I took a behind the character viewpoint to see how you raced. But you were 7th of 7. Were those other guys higher ranked? I've played for ages online today, I usually get caught up with a bunch of megadouches. 1800-2700 score guys (I'm 1600-ish).

I tried but quit after a while and joined a lower ranked group. Wish the game would match you with people in your range a bit more.

So I'm learning, people fire back green shells just before question mark blocks. And it's best to race in the middle of the track because if you are bumped when near the edge you go onto rough terrain and get boned.

I left choice Miiverse messages for the people I've played online concerning my defeats/victories. Ravenprose....

New Drinkbox interview for Wii U version of Guacamelee

You guys said this was good, so I'm keeping a beady eye on it.

Can you outline some of the key differences between this version and the original?


The biggest difference is the game world. Three new areas have been added to the game. One of them was previously available in some versions of the game as optional DLC, but two of the new areas are brand new and HUGE! These two brand new areas are incorporated into the existing game world, so they are part of the progression and each features more secrets than any other part of the game.


There are also new enemies to fight and new abilities to use. The most important new ability is INTENSO. INTENSO allows players to supercharge themselves and amplify their speed and strength for a limited period of time. This ability can be used to help players get through tough sections, but can also be used by advanced players at just the right times to improve their speedruns. It's a tool that's useful for players of all skill levels.


There is also a new villain character with his own backstory and motivations and players will see how this character fits into Calaca's plans.


Aside from just new content, some of the game's mechanics have been tuned and tweaked slightly to make things flow easier and for combat to feel more smooth. These changes are very subtle, but we think they make the game easier to play and hopefully more enjoyable.


A lot of work went into making Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition the definitive version of the Guacamelee!.

Are there any features on the Wii U that are different from the other platforms?

The main difference in the Wii U version is use of the second screen. You can play the game on the second screen, or you can show the map. With the map turned on you can see a level's fog of war uncover as you run around, and it's generally a bit faster to check where you're going. Naturally, you can also touch the second screen to to scroll the map.

So I have a 1tb Solid State drive going in my PC.

A 1.5TB Hard Drive going in my PS4.

And a 500gb Hard Drive going in my PS3.

Pretty solid upgrade all around. PC is losing a bit of storage space, but 1tb is still plenty. And it gains much faster loading, quiet operation, and cooler operation. PS4 is going to have 3 times the storage it had before, and the Hard Drive is a bit faster than the stock model. And the PS3 is going to have twice the storage it had before.

Some dude hit on me in FFXIV! And he was very persistant too. Somehow I knew I should not have created that hot cat-girl character.

Seriously.  One of the most exciting teams I watched in this tournament.  Very hard done by to have two losses from two games.  And that Tim Cahill goal.  Oh man I don't even have words for it.  Goal of the tournament would be an understatement.

I believe any version will do, hardcopy or digital.  Once you register the game online (no WiiU required, log in with Nintendo ID), you get a download code for the game of your choice.  I don't know how long this code will stay valid, and it is technically possible that it is tied to your Nintendo ID.  I doubt that that is the case though.
