Watch Dogs Ps4. Looks nice.
I don't know much one way or another but I've assumed there was more to it based on what some people have done with translation patches. I mean somehow they've managed to identify and manipulate the code that presents text even with semi-recent software like Valkyria Chronicles 3.
It's a decent game. Just don't go in expecting the second coming of RE4

That's a really good point. My guess would be that if you pull the data off the disc there would be graphics, fonts, and also text which may or may not be compressed or encoded, and then there is machine code which tells the game system how to use these assets and run the game. Modders probably find ways to pull manipulate the assets like graphics, fonts, and text; however, pulling the machine code and turning that into something readable seems like the main, much more challenging issue.
Again, I'm only speculating... It would be interesting to know the real answer.
So, after 4+ years with my macbook (solid little laptop) I finally got a PC with some gaming possibilities to accompany my consoles.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/31ujE
I'm broke right now, but eventually I'd obviously like to get some games.
What PC games do people recommend for a first timer, if any?
I was looking into:
stanley parable, papers please, amnesia, day z, project zomboid
I'm playing:
Bravely Default, Monster Hunter 3 unite (WiiU), Shadows of the Damned, Peace Walker, Dragon's Dogma.
Any ideas are appreciated.
Its funny how in my head you are. The second coming of RE4 is exactly what I'm expecting. Generally I don't play games like TLOU but every once in a while when a game is so critically acclaimed I'll give it a shot. RE4 was the game that inspired that philosophy and for good or bad will be the game I hold this up against.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete. Its an older game, but it should be pretty cheap and its the greatest turn based strategy game of all time. Its pretty much the only PC series I care about but damn is it fun.
Witcher 3 delayed?! Noooooooooo.
Ahh I see the genius in the witcher 3 move. It moves them away from DA3 and still allows them to come out this fiscal year. Makes sense.
They wanted to make sure the game scored a solid 8.0 from you this time.
Brace for crushing disappointment then. It doesn't even hold up to Uncharted 2.
I never played any of the Uncharted games, so I guess I have that going for me.
What does RE4 have to do with TLOU, they are very different games. Its starts slow too, just enjoy the ride.
They have my review posted on all the walls to drive them.
I'm not comparing the two games on a gameplay level, more of an overall quality level for types of games I don't usually like. Whether you want to call RE4 survival horror or 3rd person shooter, I normally stay away from those games, but I absolutely loved RE4. It's one of my favorite games of all time. Likewise, normally I don't play a whole lot of sandbox games (or to be more accurate I get bored with them after a few hours), but I loved Red Dead Redemption and have it up there as well. That's kind of what I'm hoping for with TLOU.
TLOU is stealth third person action I guess. The shooting is limited.
The only thing of comparable quality is the story.
This is like C level trolling. Just bad.
Just watch the hype machine break down a few months down the line and everybody owning up "The Last of what? ... Yeah it wasn't all that. Sorry". Like we see time and time again.
I hope with budgets rising and all of these studios closing shop and downsizing we will see fewer games wanting to be movies in the future and more games just happy to be games.

I told you from the start it would be delayed. No way they could get that game done this year and not cut corners. I doubt Dragon Age had anything to do with it.
Hahaha
