I got back in business with The Old Republic. Even as a non-SW fan, this game is pretty great. It also has nice quest variety.

Also played a crapload of Disgaea 3. I even managed to move the story forward a bit, heh. I went out for a bit today with the family, and bought Disgaea 4.

Rumors are flying everywhere on AC5. On gaf a random dude started a topic saying he sat next to a guy on a plane that works at Ubisoft and he told him about AC5 and even showed him a clip of the game. This would be ridiculous but AC4 was revealed the exact same way… random guy on a plane.

So this guy claims it is Victorian era London and Paris. It maybe cross gen. Villa is back.

There is this image circulating the web

And IGN says Ubisoft has an announcement tomorrow. So yeah.

Two victorian england games in one year?

So it seems a new Mana game has come out in Japan. . . for iOS. Given how god awful the series has been over the last decade I really shouldn't be upset by this, but fuck it I am. Please S-E. Please come to your fucking senses and make this a real handheld or console release. Or please entire nation of Japan... come to your senses and stop being so god damned infatuated with mobile gaming.

Anyone ever reach a point with an illness or injury where you COMPLETELY --FREAK-- teh FUCK OUT ? ! ? While waiting for a reputable doctor to become available, what started as stiffness, discomfort and occasional pain became a tight, sleep-disrupting, "chore-to-put-a-shirt-on-in-the-morning-without-feeling-like-I'm-ripping-every-muscle-in-my-shoulder" kind of pain. Whenever I roll over in bed at night I feel popping and tearing and I am immediately jarred awake. This all started JANUARY 28th ! ! ! This has been going on for over a month ! ! ! Best of all, the last few nights have all had near panic-inducing " I WANT THIS OVER RIGHT NOW ! ! ! " moments, followed by some deep breathing, lots of teeth-grinding and late-night, early morning pop-ins to the site to see if anyone is on or has anything interesting to say...

Why am I bringing this up here? If it wasn't for Tales of Xillia, Bravely Default and Lightning Returns occupying MUCH of my waking hours, I don't think my sanity would be intact right about now...

That is all.

Sorry to hear man. I've been lucky with health so far, aside from the occasional weirdness. Never been through stuff like Bear or to a lesser extent what you are going through.

Weekend gaming summary:

This week I have played Mario Kart (SNES), Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Double Douche (GC), Far Cry 3, Resident Evil 6, Saints Row 4.

Not sure what will stick yet. RE6 was awesome, but I want to keep going with Farcry 3. But they threw a fuckign compulsory stealth mission at me.  Saints Row 4 is likely dead to me at this point.

This week I played and finished Fable 3 which was good but didn't hit me like the 1st two games did. Kind of dragged a bit.

I am now balls deep into Bioshock Infinite, which is a lot of fun but I still think the original Bioshock was more impressive, even graphically. I think I'm over halfway done. Just got past the part where you meet up with Liz for the 2nd time.

Also played the Castlevania Mirror of Fate HD demo, and liked it so much I downloaded the game. Seems pretty awesome to me so far.

I just learned something. Later this month, Deception IV: Blood Ties is coming out. I had completely forgotten about this series. I played the crap out of Kagero: Deception II back when it was a new game, though I never really played the rest of the series. Still, I may have to keep my eyes open on the reviews this one gets.

Fuck...I had no idea this game was coming either....such a cool, unique series. It was games like this that made me fall in love with that era of gaming. Speaking of:

I like the new PS3 boxes. Love the blue PS4 boxes, and I always wondered why Sony didn't make the PS3 boxes blue since 2006, seeing as how #1 Blu Ray movies come in blue cases, and #2 blue is kind of the Playstation color anyway. I like.

Did you have a badarse PC when you played the first Bioshock? It was about as technically impressive as Infinite (which is to say it wasn't impressive).

No I played it on the 360. I thought that game was gorgeous in 2007. In a very Metroid Prime kind of way, with the attention to detail and the great art style. To me Infinite looks a bit flat compared to Rapture.

It was pretty unique. At least the second and third installments. I know it changed a bit from the first and second and then again from the 3rd to 4th. Part of this remake of the 4th is to redo the gameplay to have what's considered the "classic series gameplay." Confused yet?

As far as the gameplay its all about setting traps and trying to kill your enemies by getting them to fall into them. And if you lay them out in the right way you can kind of get them to stack.

For instance you set up a spring panel on the floor and that launches them into a wall of spikes. Then as they stagger off the spikes they stumble into the path of a poison arrow.

Its gets tough as the game progresses too as later levels have enemies have a ton of health and you have to find a way to get them to fall into the same traps repeatedly while you dodge them yourself as they go about trying to kill you.
