I'm enjoying the new Strider, but I could live without the Metroid-vania level design--it feels . . . well . . . generic. Never liked it much in the newer Castlevania games either. I much prefer the more straight-forward level style of the original arcade game. Why is the music so toned down? It feels more like background sound than music most of the time; it lacks energy and excitment. I wish Capcom would release the arcade game on PSN. I'd buy that in a second!
I wonder if I'd like the NES version of Strider anymore. I remember that game blowing my mind once upon a time, but I was never able to get into any of the sequels or the arcade game.
I never played the NES version of Strider. I just watched a 5 minute gameplay video of it, and it appears that the new Strider is much closer to the NES game rather than to the arcade.
Just this:
I stopped playing SMT for a bit and spent the whole weekend trying out SW: TOR. Quite fun despite MMOs' usual shortcomings in solo affairs. Nevertheless I hooked up with a friend from GAF and we played a good chunk of this afternoon together. Unfortunately a heroics quest fucked us up badly.
I decided to restart Strider on Hard difficulty; Normal was just too easy. Hard will kick you ass if you're not fast enough to dodge attacks, though! It's a lot more fun now.
Shucks.
I was happy Patrice Bergeron won...he is my favorite Bruin.
I have been playing:
That's pretty much it this past week. I got totally addictied to Fable again, so I figured I'd get it out of the way...its almost done. And I just started Bioshock...barely even scratched the surface. But it seems pretty damn awesome so far. Loved the opening.
Gearbox Sues 3d Realms Over Duke Nukem
What the hell is wrong with both of these companies. Why would they even want to associate themselves with that name anymore? Duke Nukem Forever was the 5 day old bong water that someone accidentally drank of the video game world. No on wants that shit. The brand is complete poison now. Why make a new game? Why fight for the rights? Just put the brand out there on the public domain and hope someone turns it into the next Slappy Birds.
I tried to force myself to play Duke Nukem Forever.
I never bothered with the old games back in the day, so I'm far from a Duke expert. There just always seemed to be better games to play. But I can see the charm. However, Forever was just....boring. Not even bad, just boring. I said why the fuck am I playing this when I have a million killer games to play? And gave up.
I played one of the Duke Nukem games, but I can't remember which one. It was basically the Doom clone. 18 year old me kind of thought it was cool seeing pixelated strippers, but that's really the only memorable moment I have from it.
On that note, here's a cringeworthy fun fact about Robio. When I was 18 I had a Geocities homepage. And featured on the page was a picture of me, surrounded by this animated Duke Nukem stripper gif on each side, some other flashing light gifs, and a midi of La Isla Bonita by Madonna being played in the background. Yep. I was pretty cool.
OFFICIAL: Microsoft cuts Xbox One price to £399.99
so soon? = $70 drop plus free game
Wow. I don't think the Xbone has even been released over here... I wonder if it's only in the UK, or it will aply to the whole of Europe.
So MS has resorted to giving away its biggest exclusive for free. I am sure EA is getting paid handsomely for this. Its a good way to get Titanfall into as many hands as possible, this game needs word of mouth to work.
Random info, I read on gaf from guys who played Castlavania LoS2 that it has no classic music at all and that pisses me off. What is so bad about remixng some actual Castlevania music. Worst part about the games IMO.
Game is only Castlevania by name. Classic music wouldn't have helped any so it's just as well they don't have it.

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Ouch. They must know something that we don't (not about Titanfall, but the XB1 and how it's trending).
I think we all know the problem. At least I do. Whenever I go to a Target or Walmart I see boxes and boxes of Xbox Ones. I've still never seen a PS4 at a store.
^I thought they were all sunshine and lollipops going by the NPD.
Edit: Am I the only one who did not hear about this attack on a Californian power station?
