basically i'm just trying to get the combos ticked off the list.  that's the only "game task" I could find.  some require ... a bit too much imagination.  in theory this could be a board game with cards.  but it all looks and sounds great.  incredible atmosphere ... and i love the humour and the satire

28th i.e Thursday is the Harvest Festival in Animal Crossing. It snowed Tuesday and my big tree died.

When I say die I mean it now looks withered and barren, winter like. It'll grow back I assume.

I don't think there's a problem with notable game review sites getting free consoles. You want your games reviewed? Then make sure they all have a console to play them on. I certainly wouldn't give them to just any schmuck with a blog, but Giant Bomb is a company that should have plenty on hand. They get games for free most of the time. Why not give them the console as well?

I wanted to, the demo looked and sounded gorgeous but I got my ass handed to me even on easy. I tried multiple times. These games need to be more user friendly. I love the way the backgrounds are like 2D graphic adventures but on a 3D mesh so the camera can move about. Genius, so beautiful in 3D.

Well I'm not really on the ball when it comes to these kinds of games. Too many menus and obscure items. There is an auto fight mode where the game does it for you, but they die more easily then you do. You seem to face off with mega powerful desert lions who can rip two thirds of your lifebar for one character at a time. Meanwhile you can attack se weakly it's like kicking robocop in the shins. You can default the turn, basically dont attack build up attack power but the lion will demolish you anyway. And its not a boss or anything just a random battle. So I went back to town bought all sorts of potions and weapons, still no joy.

And there was this mode with a 2D map you were supposed to build stuff but you didn't have any or many characters in the demo to assign to build or demolish a landmark so it seemed useless. Maybe the full game better explains it.  I would wait for more reviews, maybe read the GAF thread when it comes out.

Nah.  Do them in chronological order of release.  By last two you mean Revelations and AC3?  Revelations is quite short if you don't do much besides the main campaign.  Much shorter then Brotherhood and AC2.  Don't know about 3 as I haven't played it yet.
