What you playing folks?

This week I beat Bioshock Infinite.  Views are in the podcast, but all in all, I did not enjoy the game.

I am close to beating Space Marine, what a hidden gem this one is.  Really enjoying the challenge and simplicity of it.

Next? Sleeping Dogs or Max Payne 3...

Nope! That's what made me give up on the game! To do mini-games like that when the controls are so poor. Dumb.

Edit: No matter what I did, what short-cut I took, whatever boost I used... I NEVER had enough time to finish that stupid race!

Phil Fish's flameout; awesome.  Too bad he lacks the character to stick to his word and actually stay away from gaming.

I'm sure it was just a ploy for attention and in a week or two he will announce his return to the game to appease his "legions" of fans...

...of which you will not be able to find a single one that actually asked him to come back...

...don't get me wrong: I loved Fez, but Fish is a whiny little bitch I can totally do without. No way in HELL I would give him the satisfaction of falling for his tantrum and asking him to continue with Fez 2.

Please, nothing is easy with the N64 controller.

Uh, haven't we known that for ages?

Nope, it's new news. PS4 was originally supposed to have 6.5gb for game use, now it's dropped to 4.5 and it was supposed to have 1 gb flexible RAM to add, now it's 512mb that is difficult to implement. And the original PS4 spec we knew about was only going to use 512mb for the OS. Also we knew X1 was going to reserve 2 cpu cores for the OS but now we know PS4 does this too. PS4s' hardware advantage has significantly dimished, it has higher bandwidth memory and more GPU cores. But recently X1 ESRAM had a significant performance improvement.

6.5 I remember now. The .5 confused me. That's a pretty big drop. Hrm

Well it is a side mission, so you don't have to do it. Some of the story mission stuff could be skipped too like the sweat bomber platforming section. I persevered, though. Only cost me about 40 lives.

I think I'm happy to call it quits with 1 incomplete mission (main story finished of course) across the 3 categories. There's a certain symmetry to it at least.

Been mostly playing Tomb Raider which seems like it'll be an excellent game. Tried a little bit of X-Com and Munch's Oddysee HD. Also played some more Project X Zone. Recently finished Saint's Row: The Third which was a very enjoyable game that I'd rate an 8 out of 10.

Been playing the new Shadowrun Returns game on steam. It is awesome. Combat is pretty much exactly like the old fallout games, turn based, movement on a grid with action points. The story is really good and the game does a good job of easing you into the system and the game while ramping up the difficulty with a nice curve.

I was going to complain that the game was too easy because I went 10 hours without dying but in the last 3 hours I have been getting murdered mostly do to my own poor battle strategy choices.

You even start off the game talking to the main character from the SNES version, game is so good. Has a big toolset so there will be a lot of fanmade content coming and the developers are working on DLC.

Tomb Raider 2013

I've been replaying Tomb Raider on Hardcorez mode (no optional upgrades). It's challenging and still a lot of fun. Please make a sequel, Square-Enix. DO IT.

I've also been playing Shadowrun. Never played the original so I'm a blank slate in regards to the universe and setting/characters. It's a good game with nice looks and a very interesting story as well as characters.

Loved the SNES game at the time. It's one of those games like Little Big Adventure I fondly remember. And Syndicate. I've been playing Animal Crossing, it's really addictive, there's so much more to do this time and ways to upgrade. Also playing Pikmin 3, pretty great game, great controller use, effortlessly charming. This time you have 3 commanders and you can split teams up and multitask.

I just saw that Nickelodeon is debuting a new Rabbids cartoon next month. Talk about being 4 or 5 years late to the party. But I suppose they're more or less the same as the Despicable Me minions and those things are pretty hot right now, so why not?
