Coming off E3, the industry has a sense of optimism, looking forward to new consoles, new games and new technologies. The reality of today, however, is that retail sales are dreadful. NPD's May 2013 report shows an overall drop of 25 percent, as sales fell to $386.3 million, while software got hammered, dropping 44 percent to $187.6 million and hardware fell 31 percent to $96 million. Accessories also fell six percent to $115.3 million.

Could not sleep last night, terrible back pain, the return of diahrrea. Was up till half 3 in the morning and tried to play Animal Crossing but all the shops close at 10pm
so I collected lots of fruit to sell and spent the rest of the time laying out my path network. Now I'm waiting for Wendall to give me my path tile. Laying out the paths is fairly laborious as you have to lay them two tiles at a time and I don't have any tools yet to chop down intrusive trees.
You can get a tan in the game. LOL
BTW this game has some special kind of magic going on with the anti-aliasing in 3D. It's crisp, smooth and sharp where most 3DS games in 3D are a jagfest. Also, nicely you can rotate the camera all the way around indoors. Little touches.
Whassup with IO? Hitman Absolution sold 3.4 million according to Square which called it weak sales. Now they cut half their staff and cancel all other games. 3.4 million not enough anymore? And now the next gen starts...

Yes, the Blanka video was awesome.
That is a frightening scenario where 3 and a half million games isn't meeting goals. Really makes you understand why so many developers are switching to mobile platforms. I'd be nice if the industry could just identify reality instead of shooting for numbers that only a handful of games reach each year.

Been downloading my free 3ds game for ageeeees. Remind me to never download a full game ever again - had to delete all my demos. Played more Animal Crossing New Leaf, on day 1 basically, haven't even got my house yet. Haven't had a chance to see the new stuff yet, baby steps, haven't got my mayors licence. Seems about 90% the same so far as past AC games- I haven't been into the dreamworld. Opened my gates online but no one online. Who's getting this bros? I need some online action.
What happened?
So the real difference between Wii and Wii U American sales totals is around 890'000 units so far.Have there been any early words or reviews about Luigi U? I'm debating it, but if it's not much different than Mario U I may just hold out for Wario U.
And I kind of hate myself for writing that sentence.
Sadly, Game and Wario is --NOT-- getting good scores so far. Two that I have seen have been in the 60's out of 100.
Sounds like they have their head up their ass alright. Just like with the first COD they released oin the Wii U, with the yes we are, no we're not BS.
Are they really bringing out another COD for Vita? I know it sold well, but it was apparently one of the worst games ever made.

And no DLC for the U version, that goes for a lot of ports, stony silence when it comes to DLC. I see people asking before the game comes out whether the U sku will have DLC and then they wont buy it because it most likely wont. While other systems get cast iron guarantees on DLC. The only game which has had pretty good DLC support is AC3.
