What's that picture from Foolz?
Also, got a Kindle Paper White today, already got some magazines and books. I don;t think I'll be doing ANYTHING for the next several days other than reading. This is awesome.
The 1st Stalker.
Yup, the Kindle Paperwhite awesome. I take it with me where ever I go.
Yesterday we gave 5 demonstration in a big outdoors festival. We even got on TV! Afterwards 5 of us went to an arcade. I played Virtual Cop 3, TIme Crisis #? (don't remember which one), Ghost squard, Mario Kart GP2, Daytona and more that I can't remember!
With this Kindle though, it bought to mind some deeper thoughts, and it somewhat relates to the digital apocalypse facing games.
I was reading the 2013 Baseball Prospectus on the Kindle, and as involved as I would be with an actual book, and I looked over at the 10 phonebook sized volumes from the prior years. At some point, those physical books will be given the option to live on, and perhaps 94 years from now, someone will find them, read over them, look at the notes I scrawled in them. But his Kindle version... doesn't really exist.
I few years a go, at a swap meet (flea market to most of you), I bought a box of books for $8. Inside was a diary written by a young nurse who lived in New York in 1917. She worte in longhand about her various dates, various dances and the war. It's somethig I still own and though I don;t know her name or, of course, whatever happened to her life, that physical record remains. But likely none of this site, or any other digital contribution we make, will last that long.
Unless the NSA is keeping it for us...
All that to say this. Technology sucks.
Living the dream. Nice going Iga.
My dream is to play F-Zero AX. That one that is so awesome they build an emergency stop in it!
That journal jackpot you found was no less technology than your kindle.
I think the reality is that most things we do, digital or otherwise, will not last long. If more than a small percentage of our technological output was kept for posterity, that journal you found wouldn't have been so special because you'd be inundated with them. If anything, in the short term at least, digital technology has resulted in a prevelance of personal information. You could stumble across thousands of dead people's work on wordpress or blogspot; their facebook accounts; their twitters. Will this information last 100 years? Probably not, but neither do most tangible things people have made, either. The same also applies to impersonal media as well.
You crazy man.
I just used a path tile, that's why they give it to you so you can plan your own path layout.
It came out Friday, I was going to hold fire on it for a while but Nintendo Europe has this game promo going where if you get 3 games they give you a free one. It has been dispatched, will get it this week I guess. I haven't even had time to play Fire Emblem yet. Too many games for this thing.
ED: It just arrived.
So Many games Nintendo Europe Promo the free games to clain were:
I got the bold so I chose Lego City 3DS as I already have DKCR on Wii. Great deal.
I work with a teenager at the store who brought in his Xbox with Far Cry 3 and Skyrim. He was showing off his level 82 Elf. It made me realize that I played through the main campaign and a ton of side missions, but still had tons more to go through. I'm not playing it now because of TLoU, but I can guarantee I'll jump back in soon. It's addictive!
GG, you got bold and chose Lego City again, eh?
The choice isn't great if you buy the great ones, Luigi, FE, AC
What's the opinion on The Division and The Crew from Ubisoft, I have seen no one, literally no one comment on them outside of the conference.
And where the hell was BGE2 this year????
There is far, far more record of my activities than would exist without technology.
---
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThe Division looks great I don't know if I will actually purchase it but I like what I see.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Animal Crossing New Leaf is like... wow.... feels like Ultimate Animal Crossing. Graphics better than the wii game, awesome 3d effect, faster text, touch screen. So good. If they ever make a U Animal Crossing that looks as good as MK8..... FU....
If this is as good as people say it is then it will keep selling for a long time and people will be enjoying it for a long time. So I hope they have sense enough not to waste time and resources on building a U version (just because it will sell well) when they are already spreading their resources too thinly amongst the other projects already in development.
