Here's a big old Herp-Derp for ya Robio...
Has anyone suggested Dead Island for your Horror Panel?
Actually, nevermind! I found the blog post and saw that you mentioned it.
Man I've been playing all sorts of shit this weekend.
I've gone back into Red Dead Redemption to grab some of the trophies that I missed the first time around. At this point I have all of the low hanging fruit, so if I want to get any more I'm really going to have to invest some time. The majority is really expansion pack or multiplayer stuff so I doubt I'll go for it. I'd much rather play through the game a second time. Not quite sure if I'm ready for that.
Yesterday I bought a membership for PSN Plus since I've been buying a lot of PSN games. Just seemed smart. So since I got some discounts on them I went ahead and bought Athena and Ikari Warriors from the PSN Mini's section. Jesus I forgot just how tough those games were. Glad I got Athena though. I really liked that game as a kid, though I doubt I'll ever get too much play from it. Ikari Warriors was a flat-out mistake though. Even at $2.39 that game is so hard I doubt I'll ever touch it again.
And since they were free with the membership I played through Altered Beast and Plants v. Zombies. Altered Beast is even worse than I remembered. If Sega has any kind of soul they will never allow that game to be distributed again. God it's pure shit. Plants v. Zombies was kind of fun, but got very repetitive after a while. I played through the first 3 sections of the game and the same basic strategy seems to work every time. Cute enough game and good in small doses. Probably would have been more fun on my tablet than on the PS3.
Finally, I've filled in the gaps with Marvel v. Capcom 2. Still a fun game, and I'd say is probably the best comic book fan service ever, though since the game is a decade old the fanboy in me keeps saying "THIS IS WRONG! THIS IS OUT OF DATE! THE JUGGERNAUT ISN'T THE JUGGERNAUT ANYMORE!!! COLLASSUS IS!! THE COSTUMES ARE ALL WRONG!!!!" The trophies for it are utterly ridiculous though. Very unlikely I'll even get one of these things. It's almost all for online fighting and I really prefer to just play against the CPU since I could never hold my own against the people who are playing this online right now.
I've actually got the entire presentation for the entire panel finished now. I'm very proud of it. It's an improvement on it in every way since last year, which wasn't half bad to begin with. And I've got Capcom and Atlus sponsoring it. As far as I'm concerned I've already knocked this bitch out. Now I'm just trying to finish up the trivia questions (5 to go) and then I'm set.
Now that I already gave up on it, the damn thing worked and the DLC is finally activated.
I've been playing: Goldeneye 007
It's much better than I had expected.
I've been playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Finished my first playthrough this weekend. Excellent game. Started a second playthrough and I'm going to attempt getting the no kill/no alarms/hardest difficulty achievements all in this playthrough.
I tried the Ikari Warriors game on PSN. Thankfully it was a freebie during the free PSN+ time. Played through it wasting numerous continues then promptly deleted it. Some games are just best left as a fond memory from the past.He didn't mean it. He's drunk and had a bad day.
This can't be highlighted enough. Not all games age gracefully.
No offense meant, hamster.
I've been playing this, and it's going from strength to set. They certainly meant the hard bit in hard reset, though.
Played the demo for that a couple days ago. Seems fun, especially with the destructible stuff. Looks nice as well.
Yeah, and things get utterly insane with lots of enemies running at you with stuff exploding everywhere. I dunno where the demo takes place, but the beginning is nothing compared to what comes later. Oh, and boss fights! Damn I've missed them in FPSers.
Yeah, even on the demo I had a hard time trying to back off from the relentless advances of enemies. It's stressing in a way few modern shooters can pull off. Half my time with the demo I was just going backwards while fending off attacks.
Now imagine all those small enemies running at full speed at you, and several large ones that have a highly damaging charge attack that you need to jump away from at just the right time to not get hit while at the same time there's large enemies that behave in a similar manner to the smaller ones in their rushing tactics and finally that while all this is going on you're being shot at with mortars, rockets and chain guns from a distance. And naturally everything is exploding around you!
Sounds like fun.
Very.
