I fuckin' hope so. I don't understand why they gave up on such a cool franchise. A Legacy Of Kain with gameplay like The Witcher would be awesome.

I was away for most of the weekend so I didn't play too much. I went to a new convention called Cult Fiction Drive-In, which was focused on the 70's cult movies. Stuff like Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS, blaxplotion films, old kung-fu movies, and things like that. Pretty good for a first year con. Got to hang out with Pam Grier and Fred Williamson who is still the baddest brotha on the planet.

However I still got in about 5 hours or so on LA Noire. Good game, but I'm not entirely blown away by it. Graphics aside I really don't think it's much better than a Hotel Dusk or Phoenix Wright. Kind of makes me wonder if all the people gushing over it have ever played a mystery/adventure game before. Again, I'm not trying to take away anything from LA Noire because it is a lot of fun, but it hasn't given me that moment that's made me go "they've created something new and amazing" yet.

Their list of free games to choose from is shit. I don't want any of these, Killzone was neat but I've finished it. They should have given us store credit instead to choose what we want, not stuff that don't sell at all anymore.

I'm fairly impressed with Driver Wii screens, I thought they would EA it and do a shit looking version. More pics in Mondays updates.

I'm surprised it doesn't look completely shit (for now) but that's hardly great. PS2 GTA games can look better and they aren't just driving, you can explore and do activities in more detail on foot etc.

I disagree. I had the Xbox versions of GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas and they looked like crap.

The actual environments could still often be better than this, despite the effort to make the world more interactive and more fully realised for the on foot sections, to allow you to go in buildings to fly over it with planes, to interact with loads of characters as enemies or otherwise, or whatever else, which Driver doesn't bother with. How are those screenshots good for Wii? The cars look alright, but look at those environments. Cardboard houses with simple textures and things. Where's the Wii's power going? Where's the many times over the PS2 ram it has used?

Yeah I didn't say that Driver allows for the same interactivity as GTA. I think because this is a racing game they didn't need to bother making the houses and stuff so detailed. It's just a clean, solid look with a nice art style, bloom and some subtle smoke effects. It's pretty decent to me, but I would have to go back and look at Burnout 2 GC pics for a comparison.

Although I don't remember that game looking anywhere near that bad LOL.

There are some Vice City PS2 pics here, don't seem as good as Driver.

Guess the GTAs look worse than I remembered but the geometry and textures in Driver still don't impress unless the world is super complex, large, interactive, and with a great smooth frame rate stills don't show.

Still the best intro ever? Man the late 90's were amazing for cinematics in gaming.

Man, you don't know how cool going to a convention like that makes you.  Seriously you are no longer simply God of Trendy, you are now God of all that is or has ever been Cool.  Also ... I hate your fuckin guts and I'm green with envy at you having been hanging out with Pam Grier and Fred Williamson (as chance would have it the latest stencil I've been working on is a Pam Grier as Coffey image).  I would give anything to have gone to that convention.
