Ramon Salazar/Pope:
actually I thought of that as soon as I saw him when I played RE4.
I would also LOVE to see a Halo Wars 2. Didn't most of Ensemble form another studio? Perhaps Microsoft could get them to make it.
Pope Salazaar.
I just saw this on IGN. It's a new DS Action-RPG from the Korean developer who made the Kingdom Under Fire series.
It's called "Shining Legend."
It looks pretty good:
I thought it was a Sega game at first from the Shining series, but I guess it's not.
Looks pretty good!

Have you ever wondered what the face buttons on the PlayStation DualShock pads stand for? Of course you haven't. You actually have a life. But for all four gamers out there with miserable enough existences to ponder such mysteries, take your head out of that gas oven, because Teiyu Goto (designer of all three PlayStation consoles and their pads) has just revealed all in an interview with Famitsu...
In a lengthy discussion with the legendary Japanese games mag, Goto states: "Other game companies at the time assigned alphabet letters or colors to the buttons. We wanted something simple to remember, which is why we went with icons or symbols, and I came up with the triangle-circle-X-square combination immediately afterward."
"I gave each symbol a meaning and a color."
"The triangle refers to viewpoint; I had it represent one's head or direction and made it green."
"Square refers to a piece of paper; I had it represent menus or documents and made it pink."
"The circle and X represent 'yes' or 'no' decision-making and I made them red and blue respectively."
So well done, Mr. Goto. You really are a talented son of a bitch.
Of course, he's also the man that came up with this...

Actually, I had basically the same idea about all the buttons except for square.
I thought triangle meant car-jacking.
I'm trying to find the anthropological term for the belief that by consuming your enemy you take on his attributes (mostly strengths). Anyone got it? (It's for a game review I am writing, 100 points if you know for what game it is).

And, I love the music from Sonic Adventure.

And, what the hell is wrong with metacritic users. Critical score for Chinatown wars is 92, users give it 62? Clearly users who never played it.

Hoping to work for EDGE, eh?
played a few hours of assassin's creed II over the weekend. the game is wonderful and i'm really enjoying it. it's also the first game i played in years where i don't feel in a hurry to move along with the story and finish it as quickly as I can. at the moment i'm taking my sweet time learning the streets, rooftops and buildings of Monteregionne and San Gimignano doing side-quests, collecting treasure, buying paintings etc. this game is wonderful and it makes me want a new tv set badly (even worse than uncharted 2)

In Capcoms financials it was listed among Bionic Commando and Dark Void as 'failures'.
I think this is the perfect starter game for SteelAttack. Hard to get lost, easy to play, action packed etc.
I thought we had a deal! You were suppossed to wait for me.
I completed Metroid Other M, 89% of items. And I'm a few hours into Hotel Dusk 2 aka Last Window.
So far, so good, it's a sequel, it has the same art style, same gameplay systems, same music chimes. The levels are a lot bigger and better fleshed out. Story so far has yet to kick into gear but if it's like the first game I have a long way to go yet.
So it's all good so far, apart from the opening cutscene which is horribly compressed, artifacted video. Not like the lovely opening of the first game.
Well their sales expectations for it were like 800k, doesn't mean they were sane to expect that much.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.

Good, maybe now we get real RE games.
Last Window is one of the few DS games that uses the DS in book form. It reminds me of how uncomfortable it can be.
Also, now I have a touchscreen android phone, using the notepad in Last Window doesn't feel as cool as it used to. But DS is like, is it 6 years old now?
So sad that CING went bankrupt. Can you imagine playing a 3DS Hotel Dusk with 3D depth and visuals as good as Another Code R Wii?
I don't think I'd want a Hotel Dusk with high end visuals. I like the current style. Has a nice pulp novel feel to it. Giving it a slick visuals would go against the game's theme I think.
If we're talking stylistically it can retain the black and white character models. The 3D visuals in the DS games are the DS equivalent of high end 3D visuals though.
