looks good.  i'm on the lookout to get one too.  is the joystick housed in a square base or a round one?  my ps3 stick i got for street fighter is in a square and i hate it

I stumbled across the article.  A few valid points, but overall not worth much in my book.  There are two types of people who have negative comments about the game.  

1.  Those who just wanted to talk shit about it in the first place soley because its a Mario game.

2.  The people who never tried the multiplayer aspect of it.  Not accounting for this game's multiplayer mode is like ignoring Call of Duty's online mode.  

At the end of the day, sure some of the parts of the game could have been better, but this game was not mailed in by any means.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, it may not be better than SMB3 or SMW, but the fact that debates about if it was or not even came up should confirm that it's a quality game.

So I got my wii back. The saves seem to be all intact, my internet settings are retained, the gpu red and green dot problem is fixed. However there is something hinky going on.

The sockets seem tighter to fit all the cables in, unaturally so. The case is covered in surface scratches, not deep but they weren't there before.

The channels on 512mb drive are gone apart from shop/news/weather. I have had to run the system update and now I have to re-download all my channels (lets hope the SD card VC games work no problem)

Let's also hope that this wii is linked to my Shop channel account.

The SD card slot is screwed, the spring which pushes the card back out doesn't work anymore, you have to pull the damn thing out manually.

I wish I had noted down the original serial number down because I think they may have just transferred my saves and settings over to a refurbished unit.

Still, even if they have, retaining my saves and not charging for repair or the super fast courier service gets a thumbs up.

I still need to do a few more checks later tonight.

wow, sounds like they sent you a different wii indeed.  sucks about the SD and the scratches but i hope on the whole, with the problem fixed, you feel it's better than your old one.  do you still have the same wii number?  i'll be eager to hear what happens when you re-download your stuff.  it is cool though that at least you weren't charged any for it.
