-Rabbids Go Home was released today (11/1) to NO reviews and NO hype. This can't be a good sign.

-It looks as if Dragon Age: Origins is going to get the "Borderlands" treatment and be a sub-par port of a decent PC/360 game. Reports of horrible frame-rates and people begging for a patch have begun before the game has even been released! It looks as if the PS3 is the GameCube of this generation and will never have third-party games developed from the ground up for it specifically. I'm back to not wanting NSMB, even as a gift, I think I'm going with Arkham Asylum.

I thought Uncharted 2 was going to be this year's thrillride game to play, but man, I was wrong. I was way wrong. Sin and Punishment 2 grabs a hold of your dick and won't let go until it's done with you. Every level is just jam fucking packed with the coolest shit you will see in a game this year, maybe even this decade (lol, sure why not?). Just when you thought Treasure has run out of ideas, they totally fucking flip the switch and say "oh yeah, now you've gotta do THIS crazy shit!" and you're like "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!" but somehow you make it through and you are left for only a brief moment thanking your lucky stars until shit goes absolutely nuts again.

Every encounter in this game, EVERY SINGLE ONE, is just so fucking clever. Fuck, I mean levels 3 4 and 5 may be my favorite levels in any game ever. 1 and 2 are awesome, but they are like the appetizer to the biggest, juiciest prime rib you will ever eat.

I just put the controller down, I can't really form a complete sentence, I wish I could spoil it all butttt ffuuuuuuck this game is soooooooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood.

Yeah, Yoda gifted me one too: Boulder Dash for the C64!  Many thanks, Yoda! I've been meaning to buy some C64 games for a while now, but just never got around to it, so this is an awesome surprise. It's supposedly leaked concept art of HD Zelda, the zelda after the one coming up. Its being worked on for Wii Plus to launch in late 2010.

Supposing you've been waiting, as we have, for Baldur's Gate III to appear from the ether – is Dragon Age: Origins the next best thing? You bet. To be certain, it's fun, the gameplay is tried and true and the tale has enough twists and intrigue to keep you levelling your way towards the conclusion dozens of hours later.

But given that it's a wholly similar experience to its lineage, Dragon Age: Origins is still arguably inferior to 2000's Bioware masterpiece. Why? Perhaps it's the idea that 2D design at its best utterly squashes middle-of-the-road 3D environments that have already been superseded by competitors. Perhaps it's the all-too-frequent lashings of 'Lord of the Rings' that overshadows the more delicate tales – like the plight of the downtrodden Elves or the careful interplay of your party characters as you walk along the bland countryside. Or perhaps it's that unshakeable feeling that, after ten years, maybe High Fantasy needs to take a few more risks, lest it be forgotten like the realms it inhabits.

Earlier this year the UK developer underwent a "company-wide restructure" to implement a "new approach" to its in-development projects, Microsoft revealed.

A source close to the platform holder has since told CVG that the "restructure" saw the canning of more than one 'traditional' franchise sequel, including Kameo 2.

Our source clarified that disappointing sales of the 360 launch game - and not just the march towards Natal - also played a factor in its cancellation.

Rare is now said to be "intimately involved" with the Project Natal launch, including one or two titles outside the traditional game space.

"The company is reviewing the current composition of its development teams and there is the possibility that a small number of current positions could be lost as a result of these changes," an MS statement said earlier this year.

We've left a message with Microsoft for comment.

Wanted to offer up some updated impressions of Nostalgia.  The game is getting better.  I'm still more or less pushing myself to play it, but I'm starting to see a few more interesting features.

The most unique new feature is the Airship combat.  It's still pretty basic turn-based combat, but you can get attacked from three different sides at once, so you have to look right, straight, and left when you determine which group you want to fight.  It's a neat twist that helps it feel a little different.  

The level up system also features sort of a branching system that while not exactly innovative, doesn't get used enough in traditional RPGs, and its welcome here.  

I will also say that the Steampunk theme really is barely here or at least in the background. I mean, they've thrown in wizards now and some of the outfits just defy any kind of theme at all.  Hopefully there will be a bigger push for it later in the game, but at this stage in the game it's been disappointing.

As unimpressive as Kameo might be (I've started it over a good number of times and getting bored within the hour), the loss of a sequel to that is worse news by an order of magnitude than the loss of crap such as Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct or Banjo.

Wise choice on Batman....the game is awesome. Maybe my favorite game of the year.

And I also love posts like that. Reminds me of Gamespot around 2000 when it was a fun place.
