Who would have thought one of the best games of this year would be a downloadable game! IGN claims that Shadow Complex isn't just one of the best downloadable games, but it is one of the best games this year, period, including consoles!
REVIEWS: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/shadowcomplex?q=shadow%20complex
I think we have a GOTY contender! Braid was the last time a downloadable game was nominated. Looks like Shadow Complex is also a winner!
Modern-day Super Metroid...there's nothing better than this for the rest of the year as far as I'm concerned!

I did though.

Shouldn't we be past the point of surprise when it comes to high quality downloadable games? Last year World of Goo and Braid were two of the top rated games for the entire year. And it's not like those are the only ones worth playing. Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Castle Crashers, Flower, Geometry Wars, Mega Man 9, the new Monkey Island, Swords & Soldiers, My Life As a King, Lost Winds. . . the list can go on for a long time. Downloadable games aren't just quick flash games designed by guys living in their parents' basement anymore.
And yeah Shadow Complex looks great. Damn it for being an XBL exclusive.
Yeah, but most of those game's you listed, other than Bionic Commando ReArmed, are typical downloadable games that are kind of like really good flash games. Shadow Complex is created with the Unreal Engine and has the quality of a console game.
So yes, downloadable games have been good, but Shadow Complex looks like the next step. Battlefield 1943 and Trine HD are also good examples of the next-gen of downloadable games.

For a person who is new to downloading games, it's a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much, I even made a thread about it yesterday.
Here
Did you say it was like Metroid, Zelda, Ecco?
Anyway guys I'm currently playing a game on my iPod Touch called "Zenonia". It's an action-adventure/RPG hybrid and it's pretty cool. It's about 40 hours long and being honest it doesn't feel like a cell phone game but more so like a DS game. And not only that but the game's half off for only $3!
Buy it now people with iPod Touch's and iPhone's!

Update time, GC 2009 Edition . . .
. . . and done!
PS3 FYE Price-Cuts?
It's a real fun game that's half RTS/Tower Defense game with some Sim City in it. So far I like it a lot.
I realized that 5th Cell is a pretty talented group of developers. They made this, Drawn to Life, and Scribblenauts.
Lock's Quest is definitely a underrated game. It got great scores all around but nobody bought it, unfortunately. But I think Scribblenauts will sell well....hopefully.

It's also extremely addictive.
3 hrs a day? Some of us have lives and responsibility.
Not me though. But try ducking 1 and a half hours of Animal Crossing out of that gaming time, every day. For a year.
Yeah.....
I played the demo when it was on the Nintendo channel. I couldn't get my head around it, building walls and stuff. Didn't like it. I can't really play isometric games anymore, I didn't like them at the time either. Top down or 3-D please. I can't even remember if this game is isometric
Can't believe more of the American folk here haven't bought Little Kings Story yet. It's a game that screams quality through and through. It's easily one of the best games on the system and it's polished within an inch of its life.
It's even better than Pikmin and more enjoyable too.
You know when you have high quality 3rd party games like this and then you guys dont buy them, you're responsible for it, not the soccer moms we usually blame.
YOU, are the soccer moms.
most of them did buy it though. maybe not most but at least a good %age. leo, spaceman, ragnar, robio (at least gave it a chance), travo will get it if he hasn't already and dvader will get it eventually ... that's about half of them i think which have got it already.
3/3 europeans have got it. yay!
not sure about the aussies. i know foolz got it. can't remember about aspro and darth, but still that's at least 1/3 maybe more.
if these were in anyway typical samples for the fractions of the gaming population which bought LKS in each territory, the game would have done a lot better
