Ab-so-lute-ly! AFT.
And... good month for THQ.
And... the DS's continued success -- every child needs one and each month a few more hundred thousand children get old enough to hold a DS, so it's just going to keep on going.
"Fear inducing buddhist rituals"!
IMO it will be a 7.5 game, Eurogamer said it looks like it will be a cult hit.
The third level was definetely better, the first two were horrible. I just miss the way you could freeze the screen and aim from the center and the way you used to be able to pop out of corners. That was Goldeneye and PD gameplay.

EA has to be happy with the Tiger woods charting. Good for them, seeing success there. Wii numbers, well superficially they are low compared to their all time ball busting 600k numbers. If you look at the trend it's still repeating the feat of almost outselling the competition combined again. DS is WTF though. WTF?
i really love the look of that. looked to order it, but it seems to be only on 360. no ps3 version of that?

DS has DSi to push it along. Tiger got help from having a half-price motion plus in it yeah?
not so much half-priced. at least in europe, it only saved a pound or two from getting the bundle. the resort bundle is much closer to offering a half-priced motion plus
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Probably, but that's a good thing either way. EA must be pretty happy that Nintendo gave them the motionplus bundles.

The only reason they did the screen freeze thing back in the day was because of the lack of 2 analog sticks though. With the 360 controller, of course they weren't gonna stick with that setup.
Picked up Madworld. Beat the first level. It kind of reminds me of Manhunt in a way actually, a black and white Manhunt mixed with Final Fight. Good game but definitely not blown away so far. I still don't like the graphics either...I'd much prefer a normal graphic style. Sometimes its actually hard to figure out what the hell you're looking at.
That's the reason this game is selling like crap, not the M rating. Really, how many major AAA well known M rated games are on Wii? Resident Evil. That's about it. That's the only one that doesn't just get attention because its on Wii and not one of the other machines. And it sold well. I hate seeing all this "proof Wii owners don't want M games" crap just because none of these other games that are either ultra niche, or C-level quality have sold well.
I know we've said it before in other threads about the game, but I'll say it again. You'll enjoy the game more after the first level. Enemies are a little more distinct looking and not quite as generic, and the environments get a little more exotic. There's a wider variety of ways to kill people and enemies will start to get much tougher which will eliminate any of the repetition in combat. And once the story really kicks in at the half way mark it gets very compelling to keep playing.
I've always said that the first level (first 3 stages) doomed the game. Had Platinum done things a little differently more reviewers would have given it a chance and kept playing. You can tell which reviewers quit playing after the first level by reading their complaints. Most of those complaints are fixed in the later levels. The Giant Bomb review for instance was clearly not based on the entire game, and that's why it got scored a 5.
Strange that Platinum did that. So many developers go out of their way to make the early levels some of the best so that reviewers who don't play the full game will still get a good impression.
And for the record the very underrated Chakan The Forever Man was the same way. Rough first level, excellent later levels.
PD actually plays better with the screen freeze. You get more accuracy. I missed that in Timesplitters as well.
Madworld, I doubt you will be blown away at all throughout the entire game, it's not that sort of experience. The first couple of levels are just okay though. When you hit Asia town it gets better and the story kicks in very late, but its worth it. The levels are definetely better the second or even third times through. Because of the art style, as you said it can be hard to decipher the environmental kills first time on a level.

Anyhow, I think everyone has the same impression of Varrigan city, the game gets better no doubt.
This just looks so cool. I can't wait for The Grinder. This will likely be this generation's RE4 for me. Not necessarily in terms of quality which is unlikely, as RE4 is damned near untouchable, but more along the lines of being a game that I want and enjoy in a genre I normally avoid.
Generally when a game has zombies I avoid it. Generally when a game involves a lot of shooting I avoid it. Generally when a game is fairly gory I avoid it. This game will likely feature all three (the gore is in question since they're aiming for a T rating though), and yet I still want it. The artwork, posters, and screen shots I've seen make the game look too interesting though. Plus there's just something about a Chupacabra that makes a game tantalizing you know?
it can be preordered right now for little over 40 and i think that is too much.

Grinder looks good. Better than Conduit. Which came in the post this morning BTW...
The entire E3 demo was made in less than 8 weeks I hear. The only fear I have is that it will get repetitive.
Activision are putting up their prices, they say that the UK pound is too weak. Well Activision you have priced yourselves outside of my range. FU.
