Italian newspaper:

An all new Wii in 2010
The plans of the giant Nintendo
Nintendo ready for the new version of the King of consoles.
Coming in stores starting in 2010 to keep ahead of Microsoft and Sony.
of JAIME D'ALESSANDRO

LOS ANGELES - The meeting was held in a hotel in Downtown during the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the exhibition dedicated to the world of electronic games which ended a few days ago in Los Angeles. On one side the managers of Nintendo, on the other the representatives of the other editors of the caliber of Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Activision. The subject? Two new consoles that the multinational of Super Mario will launch in stores respectively in October 2010 and end 2011.

The first, according to our source, will be a new version of the Wii, the most sold at this time of the home consoles, having exceeded 50 million units. But it is also the least powerful. That's why game developers are asking to have added at least one hard disk and a high definition HDMI port. The new Wii so should have both. The second will be a portable console, more powerful of about three times compared to Ds and having a better screen. The technical specifications of both were revealed three weeks ago to the largest Japanese publishers of video games in Tokyo starting from Konami, Capcom, Namco Bandai and Square Enix.

"No, we do not have any plan about this" denies Shigeru Miyamoto, the creative mind of Nintendo and principal architect of the success of Wii and DS along with Satoru Iwata, the president of the company in Kyoto. 'It is obvious that we are constantly looking for innovations, "says Miyamoto.
"But it is never a question of hardware. It is crucial for us to bring the best for the most affordable price."
Except that now the others, Microsoft and Sony, are moving in the direction of Nintendo trying alternatives to the traditional joypad and lowering the price of their console. This forces Miyamoto & Co. to react in one way or another.
Beyond the official denials.

Prototype could very well be a better game than inFamous!

It is visceral; it is beautiful in a dark, colorful kind of way; it does justice to NYC... Above all else it is a --B-L-A-S-T-- to play!

So much blood. So much destruction. So much violence. Sooo. Much. Fun!

More impressions to come!

Fuck you Carnage Heart. Just FUCK YOU, you little dicked, pompous, sniveling, internet nerd.

You are a meek, meager, small man in reality and must take your frustrations out on innocent people on a gaming forum.

I hope your testes (IF you have any) shrivel and fall off, so the likes of you vanish from the Earth and the rest of us can live, celebrating the day your little-dickedness was banished from this place.

That has got to be the least interesting Let's Tap trailer I've seen so far.  I'm a little torn on the game.  I was originally interested in it, but even at $30 I'm just not sure its worth the money.  I'd probably be happier with the soundtrack than I would be with the game.  I'm not even one of those people who hate mini-game collections.  I'll pick one up if it's done well.  This one is interesting, but I think it may have been better as WiiWare.

I still enjoy GameSpot most of the time; I can be there and here. It's just people like Carnage who for some reason think their opinions hold more weight than others that make it less fun to be there.

I would never account suicide over someone like that little dick, nor would I bring myself down to his level; I just absolutely LOATHE people who MUST ruin other people's fun!

Oh well, back to the idea of making a Harvest Moon thread and posting pictures of someone's ass then.

Oh yeah like there's people on earth who haven't seen that already. I'm trying to go for shock, but thanks all the same.

LOL Indeed. I can only imagine what kinds of issues people like that have as they seemingly hover over their keyboards waiting to piss all over what fun others might have as they continually think they know what makes the world go round.

Hmm, great suggestions; I'm probably breaking most of them. LOL

Okay, I have some of noob questions for ya?

Is any home router a "NAT" router? I have a Linksys router w/ voice-over-IP for my telephone. I never even heard of "Universial Plug N' Play." Hmm, I need to figure out how to gain access my router again . . . .

Even IE8? GASPNyaa

Apple software = bad? Why?

What is coldplay.mp3.exe? Is it something I should disable on my computer? I Google searched it, and all I found was torrents. I never use torrents, so I don't know if this applies to me or not.

Thanks

Basically any router listed as a switch is a NAT router (as opposed to a hub).  A NAT router drops all unsolicited traffic, meaning for example if your computer is targeted by Conficker which exploits port 445, all its traffic will be dropped by default as you weren't requesting it.

Your router address will be one of the following:
192.168.0.1
192.168.1.1
192.168.1.2
You can find it by running the DOS command prompt (Start->Run: Enter "cmd") and enter ipconfig /a

Yes

Apple is horrendous for patching software and just general interest in secure software.  A positive side-effect of not using their products for security reasons is that you won't be using their bloated crap.  Note that I've barely touched OSX, so I can't say too much about quality there as opposed to the atrocious Windows versions, but I do keep tabs on security news.  You know well I'm not very easy on Microsoft - they release patches every other Tuesday.  Apple seems to patch known security holes every 6 months.  Honestly it probably still wouldn't have any consequences, but I'd still consider it best practice.

By default in Windows XP, file extensions are hidden.  By naming a file aaaa.mp3.exe it will display the icon for an mp3 file, but will run as an executable.  It's a common tactic for trojans.  The simple fix is to turn on file extensions (Tools->Folder Options->Hide File Extensions for Known File Types - uncheck this), which is possibly the very first thing I do with a fresh install.  Using the name coldplay was just an example.

So ummm... besides Prototype, today I also picked up Grand Slam Tennis and Wii-MotionPlus / Tiger Woods PGA Tour '10 Bundle...

Impressions to follow once I get a good amount of time in with either...

I will say this though, Grand Slam does take A LOT of getting used to! It would help immensely if they could at the very least show you HOW you should be holding the Wii-mote!

When it works it is sublime, but right now there are just as many WTF?! that's not what I meant to do moments, as well.

As I get used to it and see if the problem is ME... I'll post more!

 Thanks for the info, Yoda.

I created another account on my computer, gave it full admin powers, and reduced my main account down to standard user. I tried to install a program, and Vista blocked me, lol.

I've gone back to Opera too. I'll miss some of the cool new features in IE8, but if it's really that much of a security risk, then I can live without it.

I knew Apple's software was bloated, but I did not know they are so lax in fixing security issues. That's not cool. The only Apple software I had installed was Quicktime. I can't remember the last time I ran a quicktime file, so I uninstalled it.

That's a great tip on the file extentions. I never thought about that.

I've been using Sandboxie ever since you recommended it in your blog a while back. It's a great program. I managed to convince my dad to install it on his computer too. Too bad it doesn't work with Windows Vista 64-bit. My friend just bought a new computer, and the Sandboxie website said it won't work on his.

I'm going to keep McAfee installed. I get if for free from Comcast, and I don't even notice it's there most of the time. I'm just not willing to give up my security blanket just yet. LOL

If you want I'll give you my Gamespot login and password and you can post this over there.  I've been looking for a nice way to make a good dramatic and memorable account suicide over there.  This could be it.

That would be awesome, though they may trace his ip address and ban Leo as well.

Way back when Aliens vs Predator used to be the holy grail for me. They were two of my favourite childhood movies from the 80s. I read the comics, especially enjoyed the Mark Veiheiden Predator comics involving Schaefer. And I read the AVP comics and Aliens comics too.

Then those crappy AVP movies launched and were crap personified. And I still dont understand why anyone would play as an alien in these games.

Because you get to walk into the ceiling, jump down on somebody, and then eat them.
