There's not a whole lot in the works for the Wii that I want to get in the next while but Monster Hunter 3 is one that I'm really eagerly looking forward to.

Just curious if you would get both. I have a very low tolerance for certain genres like driving games or fighters.

NINTENDO CONFERENCE CONFIRMED

Nintendo will announce a number of new products at a fall 2008 press conference taking place early next month, according to reports.

The news comes from Nihon Securities Journal, translated by Kotaku, and pegs the date for the "Nintendo Conference Autumn 2008" as October 2.

The Nihon Securities Journal also says that Nintendo is planning to announce “new products” at the event.

The reported date of the press conference is one week ahead of the October 9 start of the Tokyo Game Show, an event which Nintendo traditionally sits out.

Nintendo responded to our request for comment, confirming that it will hold a press conference on October 2 in Japan, although the company’s brief statement left much to the imagination.

“In terms of the press conference, its content and announcements are still being finalized so we are not announcing anything at this time,” Nintendo said

Did you watch the 7 minute Tenchu IV video I linked last week? It looks pretty good. No interest in Kizuna or Little Kings story? Well, at least Capcom showed two decent looking wii games today. Personally I'm lukewarm on them both, but if I see better quality screens I may get my curiosity piqued about MH3.

Yeah I'm not really intested in those games. Right now I'm just interested in Wario Land, Mad World, and Animal Crossing. I haven't played an AC game before so I want to check it out and see what it's all about.

I'm a big fighting game fan so I definately pick up as many as I can get.

I'd think of some way to get you guys back but I'm not knowledgeable on what you can and can't do in AC games, yet.

I am very deep into the game now, I expect only a few levels left.

The Good:

• Levels are gorgeous.
• Challenging but not frustrating.
• Powers level up at a great pace.
• Lots of different enemies, each stage has a few new ones.
• Very good story (though I wish it would delve deeper into it)
• Some good action setpieces in each level, its not always just moving along and fighting.
• Boss fights are pretty damn epic.

The bad:

• Even though you are gaining lots of powers as you play, the combat doesn't ever seem that different, whats worse...
• ... is that new enemies start to negate certain powers, all of a sudden you can't force grab enemies, or you can use lightsabers on others, or some are only vulnerable to lightning. Normally I like games that give me enemies that force me to use different combat abilities but in this case I want to feel like I am a Jedi and canceling out moves like that does not invoke that feeling.
• Combat against enemies with lightsabers and force powers is worse than combat with regular baddies. This is where the combat really fails for me, these battles against force users should be the most interesting but instead many of your powers wont work and you are forced to use a particular move over and over, it becomes a simple game of hit and run. I dont think any game has perfected the Jedi on Jedi (in this case force using enemies) combat but the Jedi Knight series i feel handled it better.

I know I wrote a lot on the bad side but its cause it takes more explanation, the good definitely outweighs the bad. I have played many action games while this one sort of has the feel of a generic action game, it makes up for it with impressive effects, great production values, and a unique gameplay mechanic in the force.

I would be - game seems fun from what I hear, and I've always loved the crossover tag battle games. It's awesome because Capcom are doing something different with their character roster. Instead of having it primarly Street Fighter, then some Darkstalkers, and then a handful of 'niche' characters - we've got three SF characters, one Darkstalkers character, and the rest? All niche (characters from Onimusha, Lost Planet, Rival Schools & Megaman Legends). I'm praying that Dante, Viewtiful Joe or Phoenix Wright get confirmed.

Granted, the game won't be as deep as SF4 is (and trust me, even though it harkens back to SF2, there's some depth in there), but for fun, the game seems worth it.

As for Tatsunoko, they're a legendary Japanese animation studio. We're talking as legendary as Sunrise, Ghibli - but they're not as well known in the west as those two. They've worked on Battle of the PLanets, Speed Racer and were one of the companies involved in Evangelion (aside from Gainax, Production IG and a few other studios). Though don't ask whether or not you'll get to play as Unit 01 - don't think they own the rights.

Now buy the damn game so we can finally get Marvel vs Capcom 3.
