The new Kirby game looks pretty good.  It bothers me that it's so close to a Mario game in terms of its visuals.  Kirby games always had a unique style, and here it's only visible in the character design.  You could just as well replace Kirby's model with that of Mario and everyone'd be convinced it's a sequel to Odissey.

Ooof.

Was thinking of buying it.

But given the switch joycon d-pad, if the game is tough, I might avoid.

You just need to buy a Switch Lite to play it.  Sweet, sweet, D-pad  heart

I read it, but forgot to reply.

To add to my Switch purchases, I also got physical copies of both Deadly Premonition 2 and Metroid Dread for under $90! The only other thing left in the Switch catalogue that is tempting me at the moment is Luigi's Mansion 3...but I actually just want to play the original, to be honest.

That's what I like about it and that's what they should have. Mario Brothers 2, it.

When you think about it Odyssey really was a Kirby game.

For those who haven’t played it yet Toad Treasure Tracker is free to play for Switch Online subscribers right now until the 20th. Always wanted to get this but never got around to it. Seems like a great time to play it now.

I played the original on Wii u, but it might be worth checking this out. I've heard they swapped out some levels for Odyssey style ones.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll see if I can play the new content. As I already have it on wii u.

So anyone else played Enter the Gungeon?

It's quite addictive but I'm not entirely sure I know how it works. Or if it's so simple there is nothing more?

So you o down level by level deeper into the gungeon. I've only made it 3 levels down. But it doesn't seem to be a Rogue like to me.

You pick up some awesome weapons but don't retain them when you die. You don't have any sort of permanent skill upgrades. There are temporary cool stuff you pick up randomly inside the Dungeon but it's all lost when you die.

You don't even unlock checkpoints or markers in the Dungeon so you always start on the first level.

So unless I'm mistaken they want you to somehow dive down all the way through the gungeon with one life and no save points.

Is it that simple? (and difficult?)

It's kinda cool, but it's going to be tough to go all the way down.

I saw a couple of tips videos there's tons of secret stuff old school peeps will love.

Literally half of hour of more play and my question was answered.

I rescued some people from the Gungeon and they set up a shop in the lobby. Now I can use this currency you keep to send items down to the Gungeon.

I also met this guy who will rig the elevator so I can eventually skip back to the floor I died to next time. I have to find him parts.

Also getting better using blanks on bosses to wipe their bullets out.

Really fun game.

I started the tutorial of Gungeon yesterday. I liked what i played so far.  We are having an ice storm here at the moment.  Hopefully, the power will stay on.

I mostly played Shin Megami Tensei V this weekend. Got past that second boss and am now exploring the second large area in the game. Just beat a werewolf boss. I seem to have gotten into the flow of the game more and am doing better because I think I seem to “get it” more now.

Also played some Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. Have done about a dozen stages now. I do enjoy it but it seems like it’s one of those games where I prefer to pick up every now and then and do a few stages instead of playing it in prolonged sessions.

Played a few Halo: Infinite multiplayer matches as well.

What have you Treasure Trackers been playing?

I spent most of my weekend going through RE8, which overall I enjoyed quite a bit. I was messing around a little bit with the Mercenaries this afternoon, but I think I'm already done with that. It's been ages since I've played it, but I remember liking the mercenaries mode a lot more in RE4. In this version it just seems like they gave you too much time on the clock.

Anyway, probably going back to either the messenger or curse of the Moon after this.
