Still playing Final Fantasy adventure.

Think I'm enjoying it more than The Minish Cap just because of how good the music is. That's the only 2D Zelda I've played for comparison.

it may be a basic adventure game by today's standards, but I think it's aged extremely well. It wasn't perfect, but there were no glaring shortcomings either. The story was pretty standard, but it moves quickly and the rotating cast of NPC sidekicks and variety of weapons help keep the action fresh.

If you compare it to the GBA remake, Sword of Mana, I think it was the much better of the two.

So Divinity OS2 (DOS dos) 60 hour report, what a masterpiece of a game. I can’t stop playing, I want to play all day, all night, just keep exploring this world, keep getting into crazy fights, keep getting new wild skills to make those fights more and more interesting.

The world isn’t even that big, it’s dense,  with something to do in nearly every location. Nothing is wasted, no boring trash mobs, not one boring fetch quest. Every fight is well designed, every quest meaningful, it’s so good.

Only thing holding it back from greatest ever RPG status is the story and characters aren’t that strong. These characters rarely speak to each other, almost never have anything to say outside their specific quest line. That’s a shame because when they do speak they have good writing. There is a lack of emotion to basically everything, I feel like there is a slight humorous tone to everything, it’s not all serious which I do like cause it doesn’t have to be all save the world all the time but it does feel like it lacks the gravitas of say Dragon Age.

Instead it’s all about questing, all about exploring this incredible dungeon, figuring out through gameplay how to escape each situation. That is the best in the genre that I have played (which isn’t much)

I saw a few of my YouTube guys recommended it. Say its great.

To me it looks too complicated and I don't dig the camera perspective.

I had a sore throat and fatigue last week. Today I have a stuffy nose and aches. Sinus issues or Covid?

How you feeling now?

For me the cough was the biggest thing and aching joints.

Didn't have any nose related issues.

For sure. The pacing actually feels really modern; the only thing that feels old in it is the potential to end up stuck due to how keys and mattocks (early on) work, as well as puzzles requiring randomly spawning enemies to end up in the right place. Quicksaving, naturally, solves these problems.

Internet is a complete Dumpster fire here.

It works or doesn't work randomly. Sometimes it works on your phone, but not the TV. Or it works on the TV, but now on your switch. It's been a nightmare as I've only got a few hours left to grind out more blueprints to upgrade a new car in Asphalt 9.

Also can't do my taxes properly.

So I started Enter the Gungeon 😁

R.74893c946fcd47aa40d2895b3899a28c?rik=rJzYOX8bQ9cp8w&riu=http%3a%2f%2fgameranx.com%2fwp-content%2fuploads%2f2016%2f04%2fenter-the-gungeon-03.jpg&ehk=AvyzJyK0W5uCb6KXvcwxSawU%2btKk%2b%2bm%2bQqaphpfQPIg%3d&risl=&pid=ImgRaw&r=0&PC=EMMX01

Just to see what it's like and it's legit. It's Zelda a Link to the Past with guns.

The controls took a while to get into and you can customise them button by button. But it started feeling natural already.

So fun to go into the next chamber, suddenly it comes into view, you kick an explosive barrel which rolls towards a group of enemies and you can shoot it.

Or kick over a table and take cover behind it, only it degrades as it gets hit.

Then you can dodge roll through in coming fire.

Nearing the end of Crysis 3.

Why do FPS, insist on putting some confusing, difficult to see, annoying shit at the end of their games?

I can even remember the end of goldeneye 64 and that flipping control room. Here I'm in a dark chamber, enemies are the same colour as the walls. There's effects popping everywhere making it impossible to see. Then you have to activate armour which puts hexagonal patterns all over the screen.

And The boss has disappeared.

I'm playing The Messenger and Jesus O'Malley Christ this is insanely tough. A lot of games that are made with 8-bit'ish graphics tend to embrace the style but not necessarily the difficulty. Not the case here. These boss fights are just insane.

Yeah it definitely takes its cue from the NES Ninja Gaiden games. Did enjoy it. I got pretty far but didn’t beat it.

Ooof.

Was thinking of buying it.
But given the switch joycon d-pad, if the game is tough, I might avoid.
