Anyone else played After party? It's by Night school games, makers of Oxenfree. Not digging it so far. It doesn't have the mystery or good character interactions of Oxenfree. You're just mindlessly walking about from bar to bar in the demon world. The setting is great but not much is happening. And honestly I prefer the 2d backgrounds vs these crudely done 3d ones.
Playing the Way Remastered. It feels like 2d metal gear solid with the atmosphere of a pixel art 70s science fiction movie. Really liking it so far. Also only £0.79 in the sale.
Now on the alien planet the Way Remastered edition feels like Another World or Flashback. I've seen some bad reviews for this game, most of them blaming the controls. It's a very fair game, you can die instantly if hit or if you fall off a tall ledge, but you have infinite lives and respawn instantly too. It's controls aren't bad at all, it's just an old school style platformer that demands precision and concentration. It's not a hard game and never feels like it's really punishing you. The art, music and game world are all immersive and evocative.
It seems Crysis trilogy remastered is digital only. On switch? But they are releasing the first game physically on Sept 28th. Might as well jump on the first game at sale price then, eshop. I was going to wait and bag the trilogy but if its eshop only, no reason to wait. Metro 2033 is back to under £8.00
Nintendo shut down some ROM site in 2019 and the owner was ordered to pay a fine of $2.1 million.
In monthly payments of $50!
this kind of ruling isn't uncommon. Nintendo is very well aware that they will never collect the money owed, but now they have precedence of a giant fine in their favor. Theoretically that would deter anyone else from starting a similar site, and if they have to go to court again the heavy lifting by their legal team has already been done.
Their disgusting attitude towards copyright, not to mention their assassination of employees, yet it's only the likes of EA and Activision who get shat on!
The Way is a really compelling game. I haven't been able to put it down till now. The puzzles can be a touch complex but the problem is the controls for these puzzles, using dual stick when you really need mouse or touchscreen support. It just compounds the frustration. The game has 2d temples which are much like mini 2d Zelda dungeons. When it all works and you figure things out it's really satisfying. £0.79 for this game, y'all should pick it up.
I've been struggling a bit with Skyward Sword, and I think I finally figured out my gripe with it. I don't know if this changes later in the game, since I'm probably only 10 or 12 hours in, but this is just about a nonstop puzzle solving game.
Normally you've got an overworld that's focused around exploring, and then dungeons or temples or labyrinths or whatever they're called in that game are puzzle-based. This time they did that with the entire world, with the exception of the sky, which really doesn't have that much going on anyway. I need a fucking break!!!
The game is very much the polar opposite of Breath of the Wild, and comparing the two I definitely prefer Breath of the Wild.
I've been playing Crash Bandicoot nsane Trilogy (Crash 1) and I've been struggling with it, dying a lot. I've been playing it with the analog stick but as soon as I switched to the d-pad, my performance improved quite a bit. It's been too long since I've played the original, I guess. D-pad, FTW!
Side note: I had nothing better to do yesterday so I spent all day playing dirt 5 and Crash Bandicoot. I usually don't spend more than an hour or so playing a game in each session these days. Yesterday, I was playing three or four hour sessions and my hands and wrists started to ache by late afternoon and they still kinda ache now. Getting older sucks or maybe I need to disable rumble.
Well I tried getting back into Paper Mario the origami King. Sadly its one of those games I take a break from for whatever reason and can't get back into. It doesn't help that my save point was right before a boss. I enjoyed the area of the Ninja theme park greatly. But trying to get back into a complex battle system that has a puzzle before every fricking move is maddening. I've deleted my save data. Sad thing is that the game itself is great but they've marred the whole experience with a frustrating battle system. I also tried to get back into Xenoblade 2 and I'm lost, however I can see I'd be missing a lot if I were to give up. Its a huge and beautiful game world. I checked it out portable play. I think they patched it. It looks playable but still ugly. It almost looks like Wii Xenoblade in portable mode. Why the fuck can't they just enable a power state that mimicked the docked mode in portable? I'd happily plug it into the mains to play. You could have seriously good and well performing games in 720p if they did this, especially on a smaller screen. Anyway I deleted my save data. I'm going to have to start over. This time I'm taking notes so I don't forget everything. At this point I wish all games had a casual mode to bypass battles and stuff to just explore and hit the story beats.

While it would make sense for Nintendo to give us more options like that, Nintendo knows best, so how dare you question them!
My sword is called "Girth Brooks."
Glad you both enjoyed it! At the price of gamespass, it's definitely worth checking out.

I've been struggling with Supraland and it's crazy puzzles. However I'm at the end so I will continue the struggle.
I’m currently stuck at a boss in Code Vein. It’s pretty early on in the game as well.
Edit: Nevermind, am no longer stuck. Changing up my strategy worked ie. equipping proper armour for my fighting type.

Just read they patched the game with an easy mode and new map updates so I'll start from scratch at some point.
