An online Monster Hunter would be right up my alley.  I've never played a primarily online game before, but I'm so fed up with how clumsy the online is implemented in the main games, and how they seperate the online quests from the offline content.  I hope Capcom really improves this for their next game (on Switch?).

Hey, we won't judge.  I mean, sure, aviosodomy is no hoot, but in this day and age all is game.  There's plenty more fowl stuff out there, this won't turn no heads.

Splatoon is a fantastic game that is not a great fit for a spectator sport.



Making a game that’s fun to play is very different from making one that’s fun to watch. A candidate for esports requires a certain amount of tension to keep audience members engaged. Teams must have the ability to grow in dozens of small, subtle ways, leading to a field of competition with a wide range of levels of mastery over the game in question.



In League of Legends, as an example, each individual game has a sense of momentum that pulls in viewers. Once one team pulls ahead, the burden is on them to grow that lead as much as they can, like a snowball rolling down a hill. While games are won and lost over a long period of time, the mechanics of the game allows swings to happen periodically. One player gets caught, killed or outplayed and, all of a sudden, the losing team has a window to come back. It can be a hard game to fully understand, but the basics are simple: Every kill is important, and could turn the tide of the match.

Do these guys even play Splatoon? There are so many moments when one person can turn the tide of battle and so many moments when making a vital kill will win you the match. I remember one match on Walleye Warehouse which is notoriously hard to reclaim once the central area is overun. I had mostly rollers on my team who can't do jackshit once the central area is overun. Virtually single handedly, after dying - I went back in and claimed that area and beyond with my Splatling and Sprinkler and eventually made 12 kills by myself, which won us the match.

Wait WTF? They guy just said that League of Legends is fun to watch? BWAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA

At least he hints that it isn't fun to play.

Junlge Beat doesn't get half the props it deserves.  The level design is superb, with everything feeding into it's high scoring system.  And to think this was the studio that went on to creat Galaxy's first game.  But! You should play the GC version with the bongo's.

I do actually own the bongos, because we got my son the DK Jungle Rhythm game when he was in his "I like to bang things and make noise" phase. Never got play Jungle Beat with them though. But yeah, it's an amazing game. The Wii New Play Control version was great and I'll be happy to play through it again, though I think all connoisseurs prefer the GC bongo version.
