And that this is why both MS and Sony seem to be moving towards a model of releasing mid-gen or even yearly hardware models that are only moderatey revised/improved.

If there's diminishing returns, then releasing even MORE hardware than usual is the worst move ever. There's still room for the normal 5 year lifecycle, or even 4 years in Nintendo's case. But Releasing a new version of the same system just to have 4K is pointless. Nobody cares that much. I don't even run stuff in 4k on my PC even though my TV can do it. Hardware revisions are fine if its just to make it cheaper to make or change the form a bit...but a whole new version of a console for such a small addition is dumb.

Now all the new consoles from NX on SHOULD be 4k compatible. But in the current gen, concentrate on 1080p.

Wiimote was good stuff. I'd love to see how a third generation one could have turned out. Still I kind of get why Nintendo stepped away from it. Not enough people got their hands on the Motionplus controller (I still blame Ubisoft for that) to really see just how much of a step up it was from the original remote. Plus, the Wii had plenty of stink on it, by the time it was retired and the Wiimote inherited a lot of that by default. Lord only know why they kept the Wii name for the Wii U.
