NPD!!!!!
Overall:
Overall retail sales were up 2% year over year.
Retail hardware sales were up 11% year over year.
Retail software sales were down 7% year over year.
Software:
1.) Call of Duty: Black Ops III - (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC | Actvision Blizzard) - Higher than Advanced Warfare, highest selling game since 2013
2.) Fallout 4 (PS4, Xbox One, PC | Bethesda Softworks) - Up 70% versus Fallout: New Vegas and 9% versus Fallout 3, more comparable to Skyrim
3.) Star Wars: Battlefront (PS4, Xbox One, PC | Electronic Arts) - Up 21% versus The Force Unleashed, the previous best selling Star Wars game (it had a worldwide LTD of over 7 million copies)
4.) Madden NFL 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3 | Electronic Arts)
5.) NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3 | Take-Two)
6.) FIFA 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3 | Electronic Arts)
7.) Need For Speed (PS4, Xbox One | Electronic Arts)
8.) Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One | Microsoft)
9.) Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (PS4, Xbox One, PC | Ubisoft)
10.) Just Dance 2016 (Wii, Wii U, 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3 | Ubisoft)
Notes:
- “November 2015 was the best month for Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U software ever, exceeding the second-best month December 2014, by 34 percent,” said Callahan.
- “Call of Duty: Black Ops III was the top title in November 2015 with sales exceeding that of its predecessor, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,” said Callahan.
- “Fallout 4 performed extremely well. Adjusting for days within the data month, this was the best Fallout launch in the history of the franchise having sold over 70 percent more units than Fallout: New Vegas and 9 percent more units than Fallout 3. In fact, Fallout 4’s launch is more comparable to Bethesda Softworks’ other successful launch of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.”
- “EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront had the best first month sales for any Star Wars game, exceeding Star Wars: Force Unleashed by 21 percent,” said Callahan.
- November was the biggest month ever for the PlayStation Store, and this year's Black Friday was the best Black Friday in PlayStation history.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the best selling game since 2013
Hardware:
PS4: Best selling platform.
XB1: Best November ever, so upwards of 1.23 million
PS4 + XB1 + Wii U = Over 3 million per Aaron Greenberg
Notes:
- “November 2015 marked the best month ever in total unit sales when you combine Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U, surpassing sales of December 2014 and November 2014,” said Callahan.
- “Within console hardware sales there were dramatic differences by console generation as eighth-generation consoles, [which includes Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U] sales rose by 22 percent in dollars and last generation sales dropped by 76 percent in dollars, which is sharper than the year-to-date decline of 57 percent,” said Callahan. “In November 2015, eighth-generation sales had 93 percent share of overall hardware sales, a 9 percentage point increase from last November.”
- “After 25 months, the combined sales for the PS4 and the XBO are 47 percent higher than the combined sales for 25 months of PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware sales,” said Callahan.
We have console estimates
PS4 - 1.5 million
One - 1.3 million
wii u - 230k
My God Wii u... Just die.
So Halo and Tomb Raider and Sony still won. Fallout is a monster. No tomb raider on the list due to exclusivity. just Dance 16 sold best On the Wii?! The Wii not Wii u. Insane.
New Turok as an NX launch game confirmed!
Turok with Zelda interface, NES Zapper and Cuphead protagonist! Shit, we need to patent this.
The whole point of Sharps free from displays is that you can cut it any way you want and that it's edgeless. So they can form it around buttons too. So imagine if the entire surface of the U pad was a screen, but with all the buttons intact. Obviously the games would have to factor in the parts of the screen covered by your hands and put non-essential stuff there, but overall you still get a bigger screen tht looks cool as fuck.
Hush you!
You're too late.
SteamWorld Heist is EXCELLENT and rockets Image and Form up the ranking of "indie developers to keep an eye on" for sure!
They've shown twice now they have an incredible eye for detail and know-how in the gameplay department too!
If you were a fan of Dig, you will be a fan of Heist. Completely different game genre, but you'll recognize Dig in this without a doubt!
Terraria on 3DS is... odd.
There is, indeed, touch screen building in the game. The grid on the touch screen helps tremendously. Looking at both of these pictures though, anyone spot the glaring flaw this game has?
New review up.
FFVII Remake development "further along"- Square "than perhaps many had realised"
But yet they have to release it episodically to get it out soon? Lick my sack.
The only thing that really matters though, is how is this going to improve interaction with porn?
LOL agreed.....the comedic action would be over the top.
Checking out what Nintendo had on the eShop yesterday and I was shocked to see that they still do not have a Gamecube section in the Virtual Console (Goes to show how often I look). N64 yes. Wii yes. Gamecube, no. A bit ridiculous. You would assume Super Mario Sunshine at the very least would be a downloadable game by now.
GameCube is out of the range of games Nintendo is willing to make digitally downloadable. Wii is a no-brainer because the system is naturally compatible with it. NES, GBA, SNES... all the cartridge based Systems, including N64, are simple enough and less demanding on the U's processing power where they can comfortably. GameCube games are juuust technically large enough and sophisticated enough where they aren't willing to put the work in to make them available on a Virtual Console. I think those they would rather remake and re-release as a card for 3DS or fully remaster into an actual Wii U game.
You'll see a Mario Sunshine 3DS game the moment enough people own the New 3DS for them to make money on it.
Cube had a large amount of great 3rd party shit too.
Very true, especially since BK Origins was never even released in Europe in the first place.
I'd love to have Skies of Arcadia Legends as well, though most people consider that a DC game.
Love me a nice JRPG during Christmas. May try to get back into DQV though on the DS but I always leave it so long that I forget whatever I was meant to be doing and I don't want to start that game from scratch once more (done it way too many times)
