It's kinda shady what is going on with that. As a few more critical articles have said, Suzuki and co are a generation removed from modern development and there is some sketchy stuff going on with budgets and support. I'd like more clarity.

I didn't read it as an apology.  Just an 'ok, we hear your opinions and will try even harder'.  As for Blastball: they shouldn't have slapped the Metroid name on it.  It won't sell more copies because it says metroid on the box, but it will get on the nerves of many a Metroid fan.

If you read the article, it says Cheesemeister (the GAF guy on twitter - cool guy) mistranslated it and the real translation was:

"Thank you for your feedback. We hear you and we are committed to continuing to meet your expectations" was essentially his message.

I did read the article.  I just always read it that way and found Reggie's 'clarification' to be completely superfluous.
