I'll be getting Splatoon early as well. Since I'm Sears' last loyal customer, I've got a few bonus points and gift card rewards from them that will let me get the game for $6. So I'll grab it during its launch week. I figure I'll need about 2 months of practice before I can be competitive in a multiplayer shooter.

That pixel art article is a good read. Basically the guy is saying that modern day opinion is that pixel art looks bad and HD graphics look good, regardless of the craftmanschip that went into creating them. I especially liked this example of his:

Only way it happens is if Nintendo pays for the translation. And the only way I see that happening is if they come up with some deal to keep the mainline series exclusive to Nintendo. I actually see the chances of 7 coming to the West better now that 8 will be on the 3ds. Though not much better. More like going from squat to squat and a half.

Isn't it pretty well exclusive already? After the re-releases of IV, V, VI on DS, VII and soon VIII on 3DS, IX exclusive to DS and X exclusive to WiiU. Nintendo needs to officially just strike a deal and assume publishing rights and be done with it. And bring VII, VIII and X to the west. How much can it cost just to translate a game? Even an RPG

According to S-E it is so expensive to translate DQ7 that it would take 5 billion dollars and the entire population of Japan working around the clock for a year.

I can't help it. Splatoon plays great and honestly, the PS4 sparked a greater interest in games for me. I love pretty games like the Witcher.
