The thing is that game development is not only about creativity, but also and even more so about project management.  Perhaps he would have been better off as an artist or something more cnceptual.  I agree with Robio, he's probably a great and creative guy, bit of a dreamer, but he shouldn't be in charge of anything.  He should just sit in a corner of a dev office meditating and spouting out inspiring one liners.

I don't know the Molyneux from the Bullfrog days, but perhaps then he just wasn't such a high profile person and it was easier for his colleagues to keep his feet on the ground, instead of allowing him to make large new commitments 2 months before shipping the game.

Yes, I agree. But... He has never changed who he is over his long career, but the media has, and that is a key point. Early in his career he was praised for being so accessible, but for the last decase he has been exploited fo rthe same traits.  His openess has now become overpromising, and then misleading, with the rhetoric of those characterisations increasing in fervor in direct relation to the amount of web traffice they are likely to generate.

Do not agree. The art of Xenoblade is nicer but there is nothing in Xenoblade like a gigantic leviathan destroying an entire city in real time. Xenoblade will have static environments while FF clearly does not, the setpieces in FF will blow away anything in Xenoblade.

I liked FFXIII more than Xenoblade so I have little doubt I will like FFXV more than X.
