Jesus, from Kotaku:
Unity also appears to be an experiment to see how much Ubisoft can atomize a game and split it into tiny component parts, the better to aggressively adopt the gameplay systems and business practices of character-leveling, randomized gear collection, individualized characters, synced companion apps and optional and temporary microtransaction-fueled stat-boosting that can make solo gameplay easier.
The good of that atomization of Assassin's Creed game design involve the myriad looks you can adopt for Arno by changing his cowl and clothes...
... and it's nice to have a broader range of weapons and equipment that can modify the assassin's abilities...
But then there's optional but questionable stuff like this, a real-money way to obtain the game's optional "hack" currency instead of using the in-game currency you earn by finishing most missions...
Whether these changes are temporary experiments or the result of a shift in Ubisoft's long-term goals for the series, the end result is a problem: Assassin's Creed: Unity just isn't very fun.
Binding of Isaac is great an all but a 10, really? I dont get any of these high scores for the rogue type games. Only FTL really had the depth of a full fledged game to me. Yes these games can be fun and addicting and if that is what people look for then yeah I guess a 10 for them is fine. I like real progression, I like grand adventures, not totally random blind luck leading to success.
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is about a little boy who is forsaken by his mother in the name of God.
It's a game about Sin. There's poop all over the place that have little kernals of corn that pop out of them when you shoot them. It's full of blood, guts and viscera, often produced by shooting babies. It's psychologically damaging and pathetically sad that the child's main weapon is his tears. It's revolting...
...and yet I can't stop playing it...
One of the most addicting Rogue games I've encountered yet!
The wave of the future.😞

Better than Witcher 2 is a much better seal of quality.
This describes 2014 for me and my PS4.
Assassin's Creed is getting slapped around like a prostitute holding out on her pimp, and deservedly so it seems. The game looks like it needed an extra 3 to 6 months of polish like Watch Dogs did, but no way is Ubi going to miss their holiday launch date. And the microtransaction bullshit is... well it's just bullshit. Sadly I know a lot of people who think AC is just the greatest thing under the sun, so I doubt any of this will affect the sales. AC4 still has a lot of afterglow that will cloud the judgement for this game.
And shit, they actually have the balls to charge full price for the Wii U version of Watch Dogs.
Ubi is really starting to become a 4 letter word.
The rumor floating around is that its finally coming to the Wii U and possibly the 3DS. I'll probably grab it on one of those. I've been curious about this game for a while.
It's why practices like this are probably here for the long run. Not only will we have to endure yearly installments of COD and others selling like hotcakes year after year, now the monetarisation will start to infect all the decent games out there as well as publishers figure they'll get away with it anyhow.
Yeah, I would have gotten this on WiiU if it had released along the other versions, or at least saw a lower price point on release. Now WD U will be just another argument for the naysayers to point at as an example of a multiplat that didn't sell on the U.
Me too. I'd kind of had my eye on it, even though it's not really my thing. But at full-price they can just take a hike. Wii U is pretty nicely set up with strong releases right now. No reason to hurry up and grab this. Even if I really wanted it and still hadn't played its readily available on other systems for less than half of its retail price now.
Ubi should have released Watch Dogs U for $39.99. Amazon is currently selling every console version for around $38 now.
There is absolutely NO WAY it will ever come to a Nintendo console.
Guys, guys something horrible happened. I'm playing WoW.
4 games....half of the hdd. Pathetic.
